Video Pertaining to the The different
phases of the Water Cycle)

Base on the video, I would

like you to sing some of your favorite
part from it.
(Students sing various parts of the song)

“And they call it the water cycle.”

This song encapsulated us
with its catchy upbeat music, and the
lyrics say something about our topic
for today and that is?
Water Cycle, Sir.

Lesson Proper
Our topic for today is about the
Water Cycle. If you can still
remember the lyrics from the song
you we all have just hear a while ago,
please state the 4 stages of Water
Cycle that were mentioned.
Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation and
Collection.

(The lesson is integrated with

an English article entitled “Make
Rain” by Mimi Mortezai and will be
used to determine which parts of the
article are the four stages of water
cycle.

Class, last week while I was

roaming around, I saw you having
class with your English teacher and
saw that you were having a
discussion about the article Make
Rain by Mimi Mortezai,
 With your background
knowledge about this article, I would
like you to identify which part of this
article is the evaporation,
condensation, precipitation and
collection.

Evaporation – The sun heats the water. The

warm wet air rises up into the sky.
Condensation – If the warm, wet air meets the
cold air, rain clouds form.
Precipitation – When the clouds have enough
water, the drops fall to the ground as rain.

Now, I would like you to

explain, in your own words, the
stages of water cycle.

Evaporation - a process when the sun heats

up water in seas, rivers, lakes, ocean, and
pods, then it turns into water vapor. On steam
and rises up in the air in the atmosphere. So,
evaporation is from water to gas.
Condensation - condensation is from gas to
liquid. As the water vapor rises higher into the
air/atmosphere, it cools and condenses.
 Condensation means that water changes
from gas to liquid.
Precipitation - the water keeps condensing to
from the clouds, but when there is too much
accumulation or collection of water in the
clouds, the clouds became heavy.
Collection - This happens when water go
back together into the different bodies of

up, we will be doing the Hand
Mnemonic Activity. So your hand will
be the one moving, I will say the
stage of water cycle and then you
need to execute it, if you execute it
incorrectly you will be eliminated.

Evaporation: moving hands up like

the steam rising.
Condensation: moving hands
together in the shape of a putty
Precipitation: moving hands down
like the rain.
Collection: form a ring with your
hand.

Application
Last week, I already gave you
your groups and now I would like to
go to your group. Group Leaders
please get the materials needed here
in front. I will be the one pouring the
hot water later on to avoid accident.
Please refer to the material
presented here in front. We will all be
doing it at the same time. Prepare
your pens and papers to write down
your observations. We will be making
our Own Rain Base on the article by
Mimi Mortezai.
 Each group will present their
observation during the activity.

What are the stages of Water
cycle? Explain each cycle.
Now, may I know how
everyone of you use water?
So, do you think there is still
enough water for all of us? What
should we do to make sure we still
have clean water for the next
generation.
When hot was was poured, it fogged the
glass bottle, it continued when we put a plate
on top to close the lid and when put some ice
and cold water on to the plate, a water started
sprouting at the bottom of the plate. Then the
water from the bottom of the plate started
dropping and went back to the rest of the
water in the glass bottle.
That rain is not a simple phenomena. It is a
complex phenomena that needs to be
understand. We learned that there are lots of
factors why it rains.
Evaporation - is the process in which the sun
heats up the bodies of water and turns it up to
vapor or steam and rises to the
air/atmosphere.
Condensation - means that water changes
from gas to water droplets forming the clouds
in the sky.
Precipitation - is the process formed when
clouds get big and heavy with water, and the
water falls to earth as rain and many other
forms.
Collection - is the process when water turned
back to the bodies of water.

Assignment
Make a collage of water cycle
with its stages using pictures from
magazines. Search about the
different type of precipitation, attach a
picture of the different types of Yes, Sir. By not wasting it we can still
precipitation and label it. conserve water and let us all remember that
every drop of water counts.
