Acknowledgement

The researchers would like to express gratitude to the Almighty God for his strength and

guidance. Sincere thanks to our parents who supported and given us time -off from chores to

complete this assignment.

Additionally, gratitude extended to all group members for their hard work they put into this

assignment. We would like to thank our Mathematics teacher for her continuous guidance during

this assignment. Thanks to all those who help in one way or the other.

Computation of Integer
What is an integer?
Integers are natural numbers that are either positive, negative or neither, like zero.
Example

Addition of integers
When we add two numbers with the same signs the outcome will take the sign of both of the
numbers.
Example
4+2=6
When we add two integers with different signs we subtract the numbers and the answer will take
the sign of the larger number
Example
-6+3= -3
Subtraction of integers
When subtracting integers keep the first number, change the subtraction sign to addition and the
sign of the number that follows. After all of that is done apply the rules of addition.
Example
10-(-3)
=10+(+3)
=+13

Multiplication of integers
When we are multiplying two numbers with the same sign the answer will always be positive.
Example
-3 * -2 = 6
When we are multiplying two numbers with different signs, the answer will negative.
Example
-5 * 3 = -15

Division of integers
When we are dividing two numbers with the same sign the answer will always be positive.
Example
-4 / -2 = 2
When we are dividing two numbers with different signs, the answer will negative.
-12 / 3 = -4

Computation of Algebraic Terms

What is an algebraic term?
An algebraic term is a mathematical expression that consists of a coefficient and a variable.
Coefficient Meaning
Is a number we use in an algebraic term that is multiplied by a variable. A coefficient is normally
placed in front of a variable.
Variable Meaning
Is an unknown number that is in the form of a letter and is behind the coefficient that can change
in a mathematical equation.

Solving Algebraic Equations

What is an Algebraic Equation?
An expression made up of numbers, operations and variables.
Example
5x + 2 = 7
5x = 7 – 2
5x = 5
x = 5/5
x=1
