are so often poetic and the
melody is soothing, reflecting
the deep emotions of love and
passion.

2. TELEVISION Eat Bulaga: This is the longest-


running noontime show in the
Philippines. It has become
significant part of the Filipino
culture, show casting local
talents and providing
entertainment to a millions
Filipinos.
3. SPORTS Sepak Takraw: It is a popular
sport played by children’s in
the Philippines, and was the
Philippine national sport until
it was replaced by Arnis in
2009,

4. TOYS Jeepney toys: Jeepneys are


popular mode of
transportation in the
Philippines. Toy version of
these colorful and uniquely
decorated vehicles are popular
among children’s and
collections.
5. COMIC BOOKS Darna: She is a fictional
superheroine created by
Filipino comic book artist Mars
Ravelo. Darna is a symbol of
female empowerment and
national identity.
6. FILM Jose Rizal: The biographical film
about the National Hero of The
Philippines. It’s a symbol of the
country’s struggle for
independence.

7. ADVERTISING Jollibee: This is the largest fast


food chain in the Philippines.
The brands mascot, a large red
bee, is instantly recognizable
and a symbol of Filipino
ingenuity and success.

8. FASHION Barong Tagalog: This is the


national Filipino shirt worn at
formal events. It’s a symbol of
the Filipino identity and
heritage.

9. MAGAZINE Yes! Magazine: This is the


popular entertainment
magazine in the Philippines. It
features local celebrities and
provides a glimpse into their
lives.

10. CYBER CULTURE AlDub: This is the loveteam


from the noontime show Eat
Bulaga that gained massive
popularity online. They are
symbol of the influence of social
media in the Filipino popular
culture.

These iconic symbols from the Philippines have a big impact on the youth today. For instance,
the love songs of Kundiman might be traditional, but they still touch young hearts because they speak
about love and longing - feelings that are timeless. Also, Darna, our homegrown superheroine, continues
to be an inspiration, showing young girls that they too can be strong and brave.

Social media has also played a huge role. AlDub, a love team that started on TV, became a
sensation online. This shows how the youth today use technology to connect with pop culture. Even
Jollibee, our beloved fast-food mascot, is a symbol of success that motivates young Filipinos to aim high.
And our traditional Barong Tagalog? It's being worn in new, modern styles, showing how the young
one’s respect tradition, but also aren't afraid to shake things up. So, you see, these symbols are more
than just icons - they're a reflection of how dynamic and vibrant the Filipino youth are today.
