GT Transformer unloading Method Statement

Prior to commencement of transformer unload work, all shop drawings will be processed and submitted
for approval by consulting engineer. GA drawings will include front and side views of the equipment,
overall dimensions, components identity, components type and ratings, electrical characteristics,
incoming and outgoing location details among others.

Transformer unloading Procedure

Unloading will be carried out by skilled and suitable experienced technicians under supervision of highly
competent site supervisors and engineers to ensure the correctness and quality of unloaded.

Placement & unload of Equipment

Unloading and shifting of Transformer will be done by certified machinery & skilled workers.

Unloading the transformer to the designated location with the help of certified heavy duty lifting
Hydraulic jack & wooden sleepers &U channel rail. first uplift to transformer on the trailer with the help
of heavy duty hydraulic jack and set the transformer on the U channel rail & wooden sleepers then Push
& pull the transformer with the skilled worker with help of jack or chain block and set on position a short
distance from trailer on the sleeper then very carefully unload on the wooden sleeper & take down
slowly & safely 10to20mm down on every step the sleeper till the position the transformer wheels
accurately on the U channel rails, release the transformer step by step slowly & carefully till the wheels
settle down properly on the U channel.

Push & pull the transformer with the skilled worker & help of winch machine or chain block or other
arrangement to its original installation location and lock the transformer wheels to ensure the
transformer should not move from its permanent place ensuring the transformer and safely lock the
with padlock in order to keep the equipment safe.

Health and safety

Specific s safety measures have to follow as applicable, and all the safety measures are covered
separately in the BHEL project safety plan. Strictly followed as per the BHEL manufacturer’s Health and
recommendations for handling and use of the materials. Ensure all involved personnel shall be aware of
the same.
