EXAM FORMAT

Consists of four papers: Reading and Use of Total exam duration: approximately 4 hours.
English, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
READING AND USE OF ENGLISH PAPER
Consists of seven parts:
Part 1: Multiple-choice cloze (text with missing words)

Part 2: Open cloze (filling in missing words)

Part 3: Word formation (changing the form of words)

Part 4: Keyword transformations (rewriting sentences)

Part 5: Multiple-choice cloze (longer text with missing words)

Part 6: Gapped text (filling in missing sentences)

Part 7: Multiple-choice matching (matching information to text)


WRITING PAPER
Part 1: Writing an essay

Part 2: Writing another text type, such as an article,

email, review, or story (one option from four choices).


LISTENING PAPER
Consists of four parts:

Part 1: Multiple-choice questions based on short recordings

Part 2: Sentence completion based on a longer recording

Part 3: Multiple-choice questions based on several short linked

recordings

Part 4: Multiple-choice questions based on a monologue


SPEAKING PAPER
Assessed in a face-to-face interaction
with two examiners.

Consists of four parts:

Part 1: Introduction and interview with each candidate

individually

Part 2: Long turn with each candidate talking individually

Part 3: Collaborative task where candidates discuss and reach a

decision

Part 4: Discussion on a topic related to Part 3
