Self – friends – world
I will always try, but it is now a turning point for me
For me, there are many reasons why I choose to attend Camp Rising Sun . First
of all, attending CRS, which has long had a good reputation for its meaningful
targets focusing on the welfare of the world and its future owners – the youth,
gives me a chance to explore myself and the world surrounding. Also, as CRS
provides attendants with full-scholarship summer progam, it helps me
participate in this wonderful program without me worrying about financial
problems. Honestly speaking, my parents have worked really hard to make ends
meet and care for me and my older brother so I do not want to be their financial
burden. When thinking about this camp, I look forward to learning from my
multi-racial friends and listening to their self-experienced stories, so that I can
pass on these things to my community. I also hope that while we are doing our
tasks, during our teamwork, we can face some adversities so that my friends and
I can together overcome and learn from it. Furthermore, I expect this is the
chance for me to apply the leadership skill and other knowledge I have learned
into real life with many different cultures. In my opinion, it is of utmost
importance that one can engage oneself into such environment to sharpen their
skills, step out of their comfort zone and really explore the world. Importantly,
being with like-minded and talented people, I hope to gain an insight to our
world and together join hands to help develop a better society. On one hand,
language and culture barrier are still those of my concern. Nevetheless, I think it
is just a matter of time before I get used to the camp, because it will not be hard
for us – those passionate and ambitious teenagers to surpass those obstacles to
head for a shared purpose. All in all, given a chance I really want to represent
my country – Viet Nam; a 4-week program is long enough for me to be more
understanding to have appropriate actions and help raise awareness in my city
and country.
