member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the 47th vice president from 2009 to
2017 under President Barack Obama

He was the 16th President of the United States. This is one of the most famous
people in the country. He carried out the USA through the Civil War and also ended
slavery, reunited the country and promoted economic modernization of the state.
He came from a poor family. He was educated himself.
On April 15, 1865, he was murdered in an attempt.
George Washington
1732-1799
He is considered to be the father of the American nation. In 1789 he became the
president of America. He led to the financial stabilization of the state. During his
term, he wanted to keep the US away from the armed conflict.
He died on December 14, 1799 on his property.
Theodore Roosevelt
1858-1919
26. President of the United States and 25th Vice President of the United States.
During his term, many national parks and nature reserves were created. Roosevelt
personally engaged in many projects. He was the laureate of the Nobel Peace
Prize.
Theodore was born in the rich family. He had health problems, he was ill at
asthma and myopia.
He died in 1919, a natural death.
Thomas Jefferson
1743-1826
Third president of the USA, archaeologist, architect, independence activist,
American lawyer. One of the authors of the Declaration of Independence of the
United States and the founder of the University of Virginia.
On March 4, 1801, he became the 3rd President of the United States.
He died a natural death in 1826, on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of
Independence.
Barack Obama
born in 1961
44th President of the United States. He was laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize for
efforts to reduce nuclear arsenals and to work for peace in the world. He was
selected for the president twice, in 2008 and in 2012.
Barack Obama wanted to stopped unemployment in the US, which was very big.
Thomas Alva Edison
1847-1931
An American inventor and businessman. He perfected Bell's phone, discovered
thermo electronic emission, built a nickel-iron battery, and built in New York, the
world's first public utility power station.
Edison was educated himself. Only after some time he become a member of the
National Academy of Sciences in Washington.
Steve Jobs
1955-2011
Co-founder and president of Apple Inc. He is a symbol of Apple. He created his
first computers in his own garage with his co-worker. There they founded Apple
Computer Co., which was quickly successful.
Steve died in his own home at 56 years old. Before his death, he resigned as the
president of Apple.
Martin Luther King
1929-1968
Pastor, leader of the Citizens' Rights Movement. He fought for the stopped racism.
He became a symbol of bloodless protest. For these actions, he received the
Nobel Peace Prize.
He was murdered on April 4, 1968 by political opponents.
Winston Churchill
1874-1965
British politician, speaker, strategist, writer and historian. He was the two-time
prime minister of Great Britain and a laureate of the Nobel Prize for Literature. He
was the prime minister after the outbreak of World War II. He led the war on 3
continents. He took part in conferences called 'The Big Three'. He decided on the
political division of Europe after the war.
William Shakespeare (Szekspir)
1564-1616
English poet, dramatist and actor. He is regarded as one of the greatest writers in
English literature. His plays are translated into many languages, and take place all
over the world. He has successfully created comedies and tragedies. He wrote ex.
tragedy "Romeo and Juliet".
Isaac Newton
1643-1727
English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, alchemist. He
discovered three rules of dynamics. He showed that the same laws govern the
movement of bodies on Earth as well as the movement of celestial bodies. His
actions led to a scientific revolution and the adoption of a heliocentric theory. He
wrote the "Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy".
Alexander Fleming
1881-1955
Scottish bacteriologist and doctor. He was laureate of the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
He accidentally discovered antibiotics, which became a change in modern
medicine.

J.R.R. Tolkien
1892-1973
British writer and professor of Old English literature at the University of Oxford.
He popularized literature fantasy writing the novel "Lord of the Rings". He took
part in creating the biggest dictionary of English. His works are known all over the
world.
Charles Darwin
1809-1882
British geologist and naturalist. He is the creator of the theory of evolution.
According to this, all species come from earlier forms. This theory has been
accepted by many scientists and naturalists. Darwin wrote a book "On the
formation of Species by Natural Selection"
Alexander Graham Bell
1847-1922
Scottish scientist and inventor. Bell invented a telephone and lots of
telecommunications devices. When he was 12 years old, he invented his first
device.
Alexander wasn't deaf, but he studied at the school for deaf people. He learned
there ex. sign language.
James Watt
1736-1819
Scottish engineer and inventor. He created improvements to the steam
engine.Thanks to these improvements steam engines started industrial
revolution.
James Watt had health problems, so he studied at home. However, when he
revealed his mathematical and manual skills, he went to a normal school.
