English is a global language. The reason for this is the
British colonial policy in the past. In the occupied lands, the British spread their language. As a result, more than 350 million people now have English as their first language. Some of them speak English less fluently than native speakers. In almost every country, it is enough to know English to communicate easily with the population. I understood the need to speak English when the ambassador from Greece came to our school to talk about the relationship between Greece and Azerbaijan. Unlike my classmates, I did not know English well then and could not speak to him. A few years after that, I began to prepare for exams. In two years, I raised my English from A1 to B2 and passed the exam perfectly. However, I still feel guilty that I didn’t learn English at school. In our country, English speakers are highly valued. I hope that in the future everyone will start learning English for the further development of our country.
