Why same sex-marriage should be legalized in the Philippines?

Marriage is a sacred institution that has been around for centuries and has been a fundamental
part of many religious communities, particularly in the Catholic world. In recent years, however, the
concept of marriage has been challenged by the emergence of same-sex marriage. Same-sex marriage is
marriage between partners of the same sex or gender identity. Despite its increasing acceptance in
many countries, same-sex marriage is still questioned and debated in many other countries, including
the Philippines.

Allowing same-sex marriage in our country would allow gays and lesbians to marry the person they
love while also strengthening everyone's rights. Furthermore, it would provide numerous benefits not
only to same-sex couples but also to our society as a whole. This includes important rights like visiting a
partner in the hospital, making medical decisions on their behalf, life insurance, and even inheritance
rights. Same-sex marriage would also give same-sex couples the opportunity to publicly express their
love and commitment to one another, which can be a powerful and meaningful experience. In light of
the 2015 Obergefell decision, federal and state benefits are available to all legally married couples in the
United States, gay or straight. Allowing same-sex couples to marry could also help reduce discrimination
against LGBT people and create a more inclusive society, as well as create new job opportunities.
According to UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) law school, there would be a positive economic
impact and would create 800 new jobs.

Marriage is an institution that a man and woman dream of. The LGBTQ community should have the
same rights as straight people, there should be a separation of church and state, and if same-sex
marriage is approved in our country, it will not harm society or anyone in particular because it will have
a positive effect since it won’t harm the institution of marriage. Over 20,000 same-sex couples have
married in the Netherlands and had no major negative cultural impact. In addition, homosexuality is
now an accepted lifestyle with most evidence strongly supporting biological causation. Denying these
marriages is thus a form of minority discrimination. By allowing married gay couples to legally adopt
children, the number of child adoption applications will increase.

Same-sex marriage will be a big help for orphanages because same-sex partners cannot procreate,
which will probably lead to them adopting orphans. However, many Christians disagree with this idea
because same-sex marriage is immoral in God's eyes. Many people believe that same-sex marriage is
good because it doesn't hurt anyone, but a Christian who knows the biblical teachings will not
discriminate against them but will not approve that same-sex marriage is good because it would violate
religious freedom and the majority's long-held morals, and homosexuality is considered a sin according
to the holy bible.
Same-sex marriage occurs when an individual chooses to marry someone of the same gender rather
than someone of the opposite gender. Allowing same-sex marriage would benefit the LGBT community
and society as a whole in both economic and social ways. It would give all citizens, regardless of sexual
orientation, a sense of equality and respect. Furthermore, same-sex couples would be granted the same
rights, privileges, and benefits as opposite-sex couples. Love comes in all forms. The world is
evolving faster than ever before, and we must adapt and make space for all people, regardless of
their gender. It is necessary to recognize that there are more than two genders. All types of people need
to be more included in society. The world will be a happier place when everyone feels respected,
accepted and valued.
