LEAN Introduction
MANUFACTURING
Focuses on continuous improvement and
optimization of the production system by
eliminating waste and activities that do not
add value to the process.

This, by eliminating waste, quality is improved

and manufacturing time and costs are
reduced.
Origin
The origins of Lean Manufacturing

The origins of Lean Manufacturing can be traced back

to Japan in the post-World War II era. As the country
struggled to rebuild its economy, Toyota, a Japanese
automaker, developed a new manufacturing system
that would revolutionize the industry. This system,
known as the Toyota Production System (TPS), was
designed to eliminate waste and inefficiency from the
production process.

CONCLUSION In conclusion, Lean Manufacturing has proven to
be a transformative approach, originating from
the innovative practices of Toyota. The five
principles, waste elimination, and a range of
tools contribute to creating a more efficient and
value-driven organization. Companies worldwide
continue to adopt Lean methodologies, realizing
substantial improvements in productivity and
customer satisfaction. As industries evolve, the
principles of Lean Manufacturing remain
adaptable, offering a sustainable path to
operational excellence.
