Time Traveler's Guide to the Underland

Remade/Rewritten
From paper2222: I'd like to leave a short message on this thing before we continue. After almost a year on visiting
the original site, people have completely fcked the website, leaving almost an unreadable laggy document that may
still be usable in some way or another. As the person who's used this before it got fcked, I decided to remake it to
fulfill my and others' hopes and dreams. The texts in this color will be the author (paper2222) speaking.

undertale.ini Information
Okay so, the “Fun” value of 63 apparently causes most of
the Gaster follower NPCs to have a chance to appear. npc
1, in the r1 hotlands room, needs fun 61
I’ve found the following fun values most reliable for the
different events:
61 = Gray NPC at R1 elevator
62 = Gray NPC at L3 elevator
63 = Gray NPC at L2 elevator
65 = Sound Test at Snowdin fishing spot
66 = Gray door to the right of Waterfall Crystal savespot
Is it confirmed 63 can trigger them all? Cause for a spot, I
noticed it always changes fun in the .ini to 0 if it fails to
load. no idea, might need to try it later, manually.

Monster Values (Address?)
You can find the address easily by getting into an enemy
battle, and then searching for the corresponding number
from the list (must be 'Double' datatype). Setting it to a
value and then freezing it will force that encounter next
time you get into a battle.

Does anyone know what this is? >Not sure… We’ll look
into it. just be on the lookout
http://prntscr.com/8o4lh9 Good luck…… >hm…
Interesting. Hold onto that, it could be useful.
>Isn’t this Lemon Bread?
>Now that you mention it, yeah, it was the form it took
before the fight
Considering Toby brought up Shyren’s body in the tumblr
post, and how Lemon Bread has her body, could this be
significant?
Does anyone know if we’ve ran into the 3 Gaster
followers yet?

I looked into it, the messages that are output are chosen
randomly except for the one informing you about the
Temmie village, based on flag 460 (zero-indexed).

note with Gaster name issue: I’ve gotten past it. After
starting a game, rename the character to Gaster in the
undertale.ini file and in the save file, and then enter the
game and save. Not sure what it does yet. Wonderful!
keep going, it might lead to something.
Mentioned this below but mentioning again, I also did this
with Cheat Engine, True Pacifist playthrough completely,
but nothing changed.*
I came to a (potentially significant) realization. Gaster (or
what we assume to be him) looks very much like, and is
even more mysterious than the hidden character Uboa
from Yume Nikki. I’m not the brightest so I’m not sure if
this could be important BUT I trust that this community
could find out if this is a lead. That is interesting. This
game does have influences from Yume, Earthbound,
Mother, etc.; I don’t think this is something that needs to
be looked into. Keeping it due to it being trivia.

What if much like Shyren, the lower half of this NPC’s

body is in fact a different entity… its even in the shape of
the determination extractor if you make his little hands
eyes find instead of hands. Could that potentially be
Gaster’s head in the jaws of some creature?

also regarding toby’s comment on paying attention to

shyren’s lower body, i noticed i can'tcant find any way to
make her face me in any fight, perhaps this is important as
we never see the front of her body? some digging through
game sprites might yield interesting results on this.
maybe.
Interesting.
If you get a TP ending and go to the room where you
encounter Shyren, you’ll see her “head” floating next to
Lemonbread. You can’t talk to Shyren, but the
amalgamate says “It’s so great to be with my sister again”
or something like that (I don’t have a screenshot of her
head sorry)
So there’s a very intriguing so-called “fansite” at
http://we.d-gaster.com. By adding certain 8-digit codes
after the end of the url (such as /00010000), the site will
display different information. Regardless of whether or
not this site is at all affiliated with Toby, I really like the
amount of detail put into it. Would anyone be interested in
messing around with this website with me to see what
secrets it holds?
>Remember, that fansite it’s just a fansite, so, probs that
guy created it for fun, like a fanfiction
in the subreddit underminers someone has searchedsearch

what he sees. With the text, search it
Hey ok so I thought of something that'sthats probably
stupid but idk. Why is it that no matter what timeline you
are
Thein, nobody ever mentions gaster even once. It doesn’t
matter which one or what happens, nobody seems to
remember gaster.
Here’s what I think. I think that maybe it has to do with
the reset rampage from flowey. Flowey exhausted every
possibility in the underground. Let'sLets say that when
gaster fell into the core, he just died. Nothing special
happened from him just falling. But it was the reset that
changed it.
What if when the timeline he died in was reset, it did
cause a reaction from the core. That’s what caused this
state and it explains the grey npcs as well. Those are all
other monsters who fell into the core. They were then
scattered across time and space.
The only reason why gaster is different is because gaster
had the soul of a boss monster. It’s why he shows up in
multiple places and is potentially remembered by sans,
but not by anyone without knowledge about the resets. It
is only a theory so i can’t say anything for sure.
--i don’t think so. honestly the only ones i think ARE boss
monsters are asgore, toriel, and asriel, since they are only
ones ever referred to as such and/or bosses
Those without blame probably refers to a pacifist
playthrough, and someone eat a damn donut during the
shyren fight and see what happens
.
>Okay, so when you get access to the lab behind the
Papyrus and Sans’ house, It tells you “there is a picture of
you and Sans, with someone you don’t recognize”, or
something similar. Entry 17 says something about “what
do you two think?”. That might be aimed towards Frisk
and Sans, rather than Sans and Papyrus, or Toriel and
Asgore, as some people might think What do you guys
think?...
>OKAY. So it’s been confirmed--by Doggo no less-- that
Sans obviously has something to do with the Time
machine. “I don't like Sans. He travels around without
moving”. That being said, Sans is also the only one noted
to have the key into the lab. Assuming that he is the only
one with the key, he had some, It thing to do with Gaster
and Frisk, seeing the photo. This photo is never
referenced about and there is no dialogue saying that Frisk
didn'tdidnt remember taking the photo.
The Pronouns are Pacifist-related, meaning its Frisk, not
Chara; and Chara being ‘Mr. Genocide’, I don't think he
would be buddy-buddy with Sans and Gaster.
That’s probably the answer. Or Could he mean someone
else besides Sans from the picture that we don’t know
about?
who knows….. It'sIts also common knowledge now that
it’s possible that Gaster is a skeleton guy. Maybe their
father? or an even older brother than Papyrus?
JAR> I wonder

if the other 6 souls has to do anything with Gaster?

https://youtu.be/KU41xeEqIhk the magic and the mystery

So in the rooms where you find the inaccessible flowers,
the ear DESTROYER, and supposed gaster, has anyone
tried making phone calls? exploring menus etc? if so,
were there any interesting results?Good thinking! maybe
there’s something there we haven'thavent seen yet.
--ear destroyer???
I believe noone found a way to get to the inaccessible
room yet so we can’t confirm anything.
>Inaccessible room being…?
He meant this part of the steam community guide
http://puu.sh/kD55J/a87343dc39.png
Oh! that! You use the bridge flowers there. I think you
might need a cheat engine for that though…...
I’m looking through the rawr.wr site codes… Did anyone
try fighting Gaster with the usage of cheat engine maybe
with that we could at least confirm his looks.
>I tried fighting gaster with cheat engine (encounter ID
666 according to the rawr site) it doesn’t do anything
(Undefined), it'sits likely there as a joke. Also the IDs on
the rawr site do not match the ones on this do c (the ones
on this doc are the correct ones).
Interesting you say that… people wouldn’t think to do
that.
So, about that entry 17… I think it might actually be
referring to the game’s physical player and sans, since
they are the ones which have the most direct involvement
in the mystery part of the investigation. PLUS, it is very
likely for the physical player to be especially involved
since as we’ve seen before, sans is capable of identifying
time travel from the player. Plus, about the Photon
Readings Negative part… That basically means that
there’s no light at all. Where in the game is there
absolutely no light at all? Some examples include that
room itself (Would be interesting to find something there),
and maybe the other room with the (redacted) being. After
looking through, another nice idea might be looking at
room 276 which is full blackness. Can anyone further
investigate on this for me? I think that the best place to
look for leads might be places with no light, which would
be a healthy way of knocking that weird screen with
flowey and the pillars in it out of here for a while. Keep
on going!
>Checking out the room would be the best option, but for
the entry 17 related theory, look to the Bolded, underlined
theory above. Keeping this for future investigation.
has anyone tried going north in the steam vent puzzle area
via cheating? I always wondered if that vent leading up
would go somewhere, room 163 in hotland
I’ve tried, it doesn’t warp you anywhere.
Did some digging in the demo. Found a music file called
“grandpasemi.ogg” It plays a shorter more 8-bit-like
Mettaton Metal Crusher theme.
>Guys, remember, Gaster is apparently a character in
development, probably he is not finished and it’s a “door”
for new content, this is why we don’t get any info of him,
he is not finished.
Note on shyren- I’m guessing all have read that tumblr
post as of now about shyren’s lower body, I’m just going
to throw this out into the wind but i noticed that during
my victory lap, and in the credits as well, shyren’s head
was the only part of her shown. her body was nowhere to
be seen. As a test, upon killing shyren, only her head ends
up being destroyed. so my thought here is this: are
shyren’s head and body two separateseperate monsters? If
so, why would this be. (the following are dumb theories
i'mim just gonna throw at the wall) 1: shyren is an
amalgamation from early experiments with determination
that eventually led to gaster’s demise in some way.
I can also confirm that when you kill Shyren, only the
“head” dies and “body” doesn’t. As a matter of fact it
turns around facing you, looking confused and battle
ends. Not sure if that is important, though.
>Very interesting. Keep up the work. Who knows, there
might be something we aren'tarent seeing with the shyren
thing.
>another note, the back spikes and arm on shyren are
actually eyes and a mouth and this only becomes evident
after killing her.
y
Shyren is the only random encounter monster who still
appears if you set your save file kill counters to their "but
nobody came" genocide values. There's definitely
something special about her.
I just had another thought for a theory that I’m just going
to throw at the wall again. so, with the 8 humans going to
the underground, only 6 had been captured. frisk lived,
but chara died, and their soul was absorbed by asriel. my
question is that -where did chara’s soul go. now here’s my
quick theory. Chara not once shows their face in pacifist
or neutral playthroughs, and their presence is never
evident. Flowey and undyne have been known to exhibit
the powers of determination at some point, but flowey
was only able to because they absorbed chara
’s soul as asriel. Also consider the fact that sans is not
only aware of resets, but also suggests some ability to
time travel, could this suggest some level of
determination? ALSO: chara only shows their face shortly
after your fight with sans, only to erase the world as we
know it. Now, what if chara after his or herhistheirhis soul
was lost from then dead asriel had found hishistheirhis
way into a new host, possibly fragmenting his or her
histheirhis soul along the way. perhaps it was originally
used in sans (time machine) but that broke (thus sans
“giving up on going back”), leaving some of his or
hertheirhis soul residually on sans, while hetheyhe sought
out someone with a violent arrogant and passionate heart,
who would be undyne. once these two are killed, chara is
finally whole again inside frisk, who is the one who
proved histheirhis strength in killing these hosts. thus
shortly afterward the emergence and so on. Could this
theory hint towards the motive for whatever
device sans had created? it might be a stretch but this
could be a lead.
ANOTHER REALIZATION TO THIS THEORY: both of
the aforementioned characters that may serve as a vessel
for chara show in the genocide run different traits in their
eyes, but only one. undyne fires lasers out of her eye,
while sans begins glowing. Could these 2 separate eyes be
evidence of the fragmented soul?
>Interesting theory. If Asriel really did have Chara’s soul,
when he gets the other 6, he would be able to break the
barrier right then and there, rather than worrying about
Frisk. I can Understand the Undyne part, but some
monster souls are stronger than others and exhibit power
similar to determination. could Undyne be a boss
monster?
Undyne is not a boss monster. When you kill her, her soul
does not linger. However, the theory that she has
determination is a good one. It is believedbeieved that she
received some from Alphys or something. That’s why her
body melts (similar to the Amalgamates) when she dies.
Undyne was possibly able to contain the Determination,
unlike the Amalgamates, because her physical form was
stronger than theirs, therefore making her strong enough
to hold the Determination. However, once her physical
form is weakened by Frisk’s attacks, it can no longer hold
the Determination and melts.
regardless he could pass through the barrier, as seen when
he had chara’s soul. I’m going to have to dig around a bit
to see if there's any account of anyone else ever crossing
the barrier
>
And if Undyne it’s part of alphy’s experiments?, like,
some descendant of other monster victim of it or maybe,
something similar. (She meltsmelt’s when you kill her)
i reckon that undyne was injected with determination
prior to the fight. iirc, at some point it was hinted at.

-Funny
^Seconded, though it’s possible Undyne did not have to
be injected with determination - rather, she was a rare case
wherein she created her own determination. Fits in with
her fiery, heroic demeanor, her “refusal to die.” In any
case, the melting would match what happened to the
amalgamated monsters when they were first injected with
determination, as it should with any monster.
another side note: sans bleeds. papyrus doesn’t. is sans
really a skeleton? is he really papyrus brother? or is this
from determination? (or spaghetti, but that would be
dumb and unlikely) sans can breath. he does
duringdurring the fight and plays the trombone. he’s
probably not a skeletonskelleton.
>I read ana explanationexplanatino about the blood, it was
because sans drinks ketchup like water, that’s why he
“bleeds”, but i didn’t think in the trombone and the air, so,
it is REALLY blood, then?, nice observation.
>The bleeding is claimed to be from Ketchup in sans
post-fight dialogue.
*claimed
also i don’t remember that ever happening.
If you refuse Sans offer of ketchup when he takes you to
Grillby’s then he drinks the whole ketchup bottle.
Me neither.
So I’ve been messing about with Cheat Engine for a bit
today, new to it, but was able to change the name ingame
to Gaster. When I change the string to “Gaster”, ingame in
stats name reads as “Gasterl” (L letter) without “. Making
name, say, “Gaste” makes number(letter) go away. Unsure
if having this name affects anything (and if this “l”
appearing messes something up), but figured to share.
Experimenting more with Cheat Engine in the meantime.
Just a theory, but...with all this business about naming the
Fallen Child Gaster...Could Gaster be the Fallen Child,
and Chara just a red herring? (I think the wiki says
“Chara” comes from a Greek name that means “someone
with the same name,” or something like that.) I suppose
that wouldn’t work out with the idea of nobody ever
remembering he existed. Maybe Chara somehow took his
place...Has anyone tried a Genocide run with the name
Gaster?
Going to Sans with that 50000g using cheats comes up
with conversation “Wow, that’s a lot of cash. That’s why
I’m sorry to say… I can’t sell you this fried snow. It’s got
too much sentimental value.” Probably not important and
rather flavor(?)

Was able to turn name to Gaster after messing about with

the files, going to see if a run changes anything with this
name on. Though, trying to start a run from scratch still
makes the name crash game. Edit 11.10.2015: I finished
the neutral and then True Pacifist with name Gaster,
nothing out of the ordinary occurred. Did you ever end up
getting the Wrong Number call? Seems like if you can
change the name and the call is asking for ‘G…’...
Well I see your point, but I can’t seem to re
call if I got the call exactly in that run.
Bad Memory seems to be used as a healing item from
what I’ve been testing out. If your hp is less than 3 it heals
to full.
There is a house in the background left from the cave
entrance to mysterious door, you can occasionally see
someone walk in and out. Could be irrelevant.
walk
Writing Shyren as player name ends with message “...?”
and it allows you to play. Unsure if changes anything.
For those who are going through the songs, I assume
you’ve gone through ones Shyren has. Did anyone notice
(who am I kidding, tons of people most likely have)
there’s a small “song” at the inn? (Snoring) Could be
nothing, but figured to mention.
And off-topic… Why is this document not working 99%
of the time?
As far as I know, it’s probably because of how many
people are viewing it.
27 people crash it?
>YES. I’m the head Mod of this doc until “HoHo”, the
Sans of this doc returns. I haven’t been able to join until
late last night because there were too many people.
I see I see.
Mostly from loading comments
Yet another note on the theory that gaster is Sans (and
papyrus?) brother, as both sans and papyrus are named
after the fonts they speak in (comic sans and papyrus) and
the community (not to my credit) has broken down his
name to possibly mean wing dings aster, which are the
names of 2 different fonts. let’s note that Sans and
Papyrus are the only ones we had seen so far with this
naming scheme. happy hunting.
>You have a point, so we’re keeping that in mind until we
have anymore proof.
Possibly irrelevant, but since there’s been some
focus/speculation on Shyren, I thought I’d link this text
that someone claimed to get while humming at Shyren on
a genocide-turned-neutral run. Boat Person watching,
maybe? http://imgur.com/IMgHiir Also for people
interested, here’s a link to what Shyren’s remaining body
looks like.
http://imgur.c
This is likely a completely useless lark, but when I get the
chance I’m going to use the Bad Memory from
Memoryhead (if I can get it, I couldn’t before) and...well,
take it around and interact with as many things as
possible, just in case.
>apparently, It fully heals you if you have less than 3 hp. I
don'tdont think it does anything else, but look anyway, it
cant hurt.
I’ll leave the document alone for a while after this, but I
also wanted to point out that Undertale takes place in
201X but that Chara fell in 201X, but it has supposedly
been possibly hundreds of years since then. Also that few
characters in the game allude to having seen humans, and
most of them are not able to recognize a human on sight.
Unless I’m missing something obvious that makes the
timelines in-game make sense-- which I could be-- then
this could very well be evidence that the entirety of the
timeline in-game is broken. Which would be related to
Gaster shattering across time and space, possibly.
The game doesn’t take place in 201X. That’s just the intro
which is actually showing you what happened to Chara,
not Frisk. We don’t know what year the game actually
takes place in.
Sans also never says that he hasn’t seen a human before,
just that Papyrus hasn’t-- did he try to save the previous
six humans somehow? Could those be the people Frisk
doesn’t know in the picture? Why does nobody talk about
anything the previous humans did, or what happened
between them leaving Toriel and dying to Asgore--
besides the hints from the flag game? This seems like an
unusual oversight.
>Hopefully this works? While beating the normal ending
again, I noticed something. Basically, all the previous
souls “attacks” during the final boss are the various
weapons you find during the game, basically the weapons
and armor you find around the game are items that
belonged to the other children who died, you can assume
that where you find the armor/weapon is where they
actually died.
Has anyone tried to play Shyren’s entire song at the
piano? It doesn’t have any “la” or “ti” in it so it should be
doable (I think?). Also it might be interesting to turn the
solfege into numbers and see if anything interesting can
be done with them?
^”Si” is not an achievable tone on the piano provided.
Also, I don’t know if it’s verboten to ask this here or not,
but are there any instructions posted anywhere on how to
decompress the game file and browse the contents
therein? If someone could toss me a link to them (or give
me some advice on how to find them, at least) I’d be
really grateful. Thanks!
Google it or search for undertale datamining

I modified the files after starting a clean slate in order to

name myself “Gaster”. When I got to the part with the
electric maze that Papyrus makes, he made a comment
about how he recognized me. I had no previous
playthroughs, and this was done in one sitting (Without
even saving, mind you). I’ll try again to get the text and
make an update. Does Papyrus normally make mention of
recognizing you there? Even after a regular playthrough?
To me he didn’t say this, but when I tried, it was after “a
true reset”. Unsure why he would say that to you. He
normally makes this remark when you’ve gone past thhen
I tried, it was after “a true reset”. Unsure is point in the
game already.
Perhaps this is too obvious but did anyone else notice the
tumblr post mentioning Shyren also seems to be written in
napstablook’s voice? Maybe a connection worth looking
into…

I have a feeling we won’t find much else until toby

patches the game. I think he kept that shrinking airplane
thing as an excuse to sneak some stuff in a patch. I’m also
hopeing that at some point we may travel into an alternate
timeline and fight chara as frisk..
Possibly meaningless but maybe worth mentioning: On
my second playthrough, a Pacifist run, I received the
“wrong number” call early in the game (I believe I was at
the River Person’s empty station in Snowdin?). When I
was on the way to meet Asgore (after getting his call in
the Lab), Sans never appeared in the golden room. Is this
normal?
Can anyone verify this clip? I found the link via the wikia
page, but after I refreshed the page a few days later the
entire section was gone. I’m not sure if it’s just a shopped
video clip or not, but it can’t hurt just to share it with
everyone:

All characters have their own voice as well, so what is

this it?

Ideas on relationship between Chara and Frisk? I’ve seen
people refer to it as possession, but I think there’s support
for them to be two routes for Chara ’saw a corpse injected
with DT to take. e.g. Alphy’s monitoring, sans comment
about pretending to be human, Chara’s missing soul
(potential “tunnels” originally seen in demo seem to have
disappeared though)
maybe i missed something, but wasnt there a DT extractor
machine in the http://imgur.com/PGD7YTh
True lab? who did they extract the DT from again? was it
charas dead body? or again am i
misunderstandingmisundertanding something. there were
a few other kids as well..
>interesting Theory. I would like to see more of this
theory or similar later on.
On the topic of the True Lab, doesn’t entry seventeen
seem a bit out of place, chronologically? Was Alphys
studying souls along with Gaster, or was something else
going on there?
We know that Alphys replaced Gaster, but the question is
if she was working with him beforehand. She admits that
she injected DETERMINATION into dying monsters for
experimentation, after all, so we know that the notes have
to do with her research.
In the strings file, around the enemy names section, at the
very end, there’s a “Gaster”. Could this be related to the
softlocking battle? Has anyone managed to get any code
itself decompileddecomplied to see what’s actually going
on there? People fcking each other like it’s the end of the
world
Just an enemy stub with stats, no sprites or actions; read
the end: http://rawr.ws/undertale/monsters.html
I noticed that the title of the program (what normally says
UNDERTALE at the top) sometimes changes at different
points in the game. For example, someone found that the
title changes during Mettaton’s musical (look at the top of
the image):
http://i.imgur.com/zoo4V22.png
Perhaps this could have a hidden message in one of the
secret rooms? Just a thought.
Another occurrence of the above is during the fake intro
cutscene before the Omega Flowey fight.
side note: this seems to occur only in windowed mode,
which (i would assume) a lot of people dont play in. so
something might have been missed.
Talking to Napstablook when you’re not supposed to be
able to gives you some interesting text. There’s nothing
after this part, though. I accessed this by setting the room
to his house (120 or so?) and setting most of the 1’s in
file0 to 0, which turned off most plot flags.
http://imgur.com/PGD7YTh
It also had the horse stable text before this part, so it was
pretty much exactly like the video below, aside from first
asking me whether i wanted to beat it (the training
dummy) up.
>...You hear a what…?
Something like that should be looked into with other
NPC’s
Here’s info about what you experienced.

> Interesting…
Oh not that it's important but I just found this:
http://imgur.com/STmccsY It's a sign that talks about an
art room? This is in the hotel btw. I'm gonna also try
walking everywhere now that seems like it would be
inaccessible.

Well, you know how if you play one of the songs in

Napstablooks house, then leave. Aaron makes a remark
about the terrible music? Well I was wondering, maybe
we can cause force a song to play inside one of the secret
rooms, especially the one where gaster actually appears.
I'm thinking that might trigger something.
> If anyone can try forcing Gaster’s theme, that would be
great.
Gaster’s Theme is song ID 144
Also, despite my attempts, I have yet to find an actual
way to get the game to play the song I put into it, it
always seems to ignore the value I’ve used and re allocate
more memory to play the song it wants to play. Unless
someone can find the pointer to the memory addresses,
this doesn’t seem possible.
Just for reference, the memory addresses are:
These memory addresses were for the positions it stored
the music value. I have since found out that these
addresses are determined by a pointer when Undertale is
opened, so they will be different for each person, and each
session. I have yet to find the pointer’s value.
NOTE: the way it determines what song to play is based
off of STRG.txt (unpacked from data.win, so this is
technically 2 fold data mining) you have to subtract the
line number of the song you want, the .oog line, from line
number 19331, then divide that result by 2.
has this been used to attempt playing gaster’s theme? if
so, what happened, else could this be attempted.

-Funny
>Thank you for your work, this is great for this
document ]:)
Um...Hello? Someone I know said that was checking the
demo files and found some stuff related to gaster and I
don’t know if this has been discussed or not, I’ll try to
write down what they found...
if global.monstertype [myself] = 1 then
{
global.monstername [myself]="Gaster"
global.monstermaxhp [myself]=22222
global.monsterhp[myself]=22222
global.monsteratk[myself]=99
global.monsterdef[myself]=99
global.xpreward[myself]= 0
global.goldreward[myself]= 0
global.itemrewardid = 0
global.itemrewardchance= 0
}
Well...that’s it :/
>Where abouts in the demo file did they find this? This
seems pretty interesting, I wonder what else we could find
in the demo.
[It’s more than likely fake]
It doesn’t look like actual code, and definitely not GML.
So i cant find anything about this anywhere, But on the
normal pacifist run (Spoilers ahead) When you “Wake up”
with all your friends surrounding you and proceed to go

Any idea as to what this means?

So i was thinking, you can only access san’s lab normally
on a true pacifist playthrough. Would it be possible to do a
genocide or neutral playthrough and give yourself the
key? or possibly give yourself the key early? Heck that
may even trigger time travel shenanigans. I mean if you
do certain things in a pacifist playthough then go back to
the lab it adds a photo of you and everyone the next time.
Also i don’t see san’s lab on the rooms list, am i just
missing it or do we not know?
Hey. New here. Sorry if I’m doing this wrong, but I’d
recommend using some kind of chat system if this is
difficult, making sure to log the conversations and THEN
organizing them on google documents. - Ten (Quo

Alright, this discussion was in the necro-section for a
while, so time to revive it.
So, one of my friends had some time on his hands and
came up with this theory. Who knows if it'll actually help
anything, but it's a speculation which actually makes some
sense. Basically, you get 3 RNG phone calls while in
Snowdin: The wrong number song, mysteriously asking
for "G...", a call from Alphys ordering a pizza, and a call
from Sans asking if he can come over and put some beer
in your fridge. What's weird is that during the call with
Sans you cannot recognize his face mid-call. Normally
you can imagine the face of anyone who's calling you as
long as you've seen them before, but it's weird that you
have just now encountered Sans but you receive the call
to find out that you can't imagine his face in the call. Now,
my friend deduced that these calls might actually be
linked to the same event. Sans comes over to deposit
some beer, Alphys asks for a pizza, and someone else
calls for "G...". You can link these together to think of this
as a party they're celebrating. Everyone's invited on their
scientific research team, as shown by the picture in Sans's
garage. They're organizing the party to celebrate a
scientific development, likely thanks to Gaster. But why
would the Wrong Number caller call Gaster when it
should be apparent that Gaster is dead? That's a no
brainer: The calls are sent from the past. Why can't you
recognize Sans's face during the call when in other calls
you can? It was sent from the past. Why are they still
organizing a party dedicated to Gaster even though he's
dead? It was sent from the past. Now, to shift the topic a
bit. During the Asriel fight, you fight the Lost Souls
which behave like how they were *before* they met you.
Sans's behavior is very odd in this moment, given his
direct quotes: "Why even try?" "Just give up, I did."
"You'll never see 'em again." Sans is horridly depressed in
his past compared to when he meets you, seeming quite
chill. The likely possibility is that it's around that point in
his past that Gaster is dead. He's conversing with someone
(likely a member of his scientific research team including
Gaster and Alphys, and likely the Wrong Number caller)
and telling them to just give up. What's something that
they would have to give up on? How about that
unfinished machine in Sans's garage? Toby himself hinted
that nobody could fix "the machine", and when you link it
together, it's very possible that it could be that they gave
up on fixing the machine after Gaster's death. That's about
as much as I can remember out of my friend's theory. It's
very odd when pieced together, but there's quite a bit of
sense it would make too. I had a hard time wording this,
but I hope it makes sense. Feel free to give your criticism
and other possible logical loopholes which weren't
explained.
Same guy as before speaking, I have a new theory. It’s
about the machine. Basically, I think it lets the users see
into the future timelines. This would suggest how sans is
capable of telling which “timeline” you are in. It would
also likely be the explanation for the “our reports show a
massive anomaly in the time-space continuum” thing that
sans spouts out in his fight. He also talks as if he knows
every “ending”, which would normally be impossible
because he would have been incapable of knowing that
the true ending even existed regardless of time travel or
not. Anyways, this is what I think the machine is meant to
do.why have a new

Generally, I recommend to leave this document which is
hard to navigate and move to

It’s not your fault at all, it’s just a medium that’s tough to
maintain by nature.
>I’ll check that out soon, im swamped with this work and
school right now.
Does anyone here know how to get sans encounter via
cheat engine? im confused as hell and i wanna train my
sans technique
