Session 2
 Pentateuch (a witness of God’s revelation to the generation who were about to enter the Promised Land)
o Beginning
 Everything came to be according to God’s design.
 Rules represent God’s will.
 There are consequences when God’s rule is broken.
o Expulsion
 Adam and Eve were expelled from Eden.
 God restarted mankind beginning from Noah’s family.
 When people built the tower of Babel, God confused them with different languages.
o Grandfathers (or forefathers)
 Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Genesis chapters 12-50)
o Insubordination
 God relocated Jacob’s family to Egypt to spare them from the famine in Canaan.
 The Israelites stayed in Egypt for 400 years.
 Disobedience caused an 11-day journey to turn into 40 years.
o Nebo
 Moses was buried at Mount Nebo.
 Genesis (major themes: the only true God is the Creator; the fall of man; the spread of sin in the world; the
covenant relationship of God with the patriarchs)

o Adam is mankind’s covenant representative.
o Because of Adam’s fall, humans began to possess a sinful nature.

o The tabernacle and the ark of the covenant were visual reminder of God’s presence.
