Objectives:

1. Activity:
 Students will be able to retell the story of "The Good Prince Bantugan"

Materials Needed:

 Copies of "The Story of the Good Prince Bantugan"


 Whiteboard and markers

Procedure:

1. Activity (10 minutes):


 Start the lesson by asking students if they've heard of folk epics and if they
can name any.
 Introduce "The Story of the Good Prince Bantugan" as an example of a folk
epic.
 Read aloud or provide a summary of the story.
 Divide the class into groups and assign each group a section of the story
to retell orally.
2. Analysis (20 minutes):
 After the retelling, discuss as a class the character of Prince Bantugan.
 On the whiteboard, create a list of traits and actions that make Prince
Bantugan a hero.
 Encourage students to provide evidence from the text to support their
ideas.
 Discuss why these traits are important in a hero figure.
3. Abstraction (15 minutes):

create a profile for a modern-day hero who exemplifies these qualities.
 Provide guidelines for the hero profile, including a name, background
story, strengths, and examples of heroic actions.
 Allow students time to work on their profiles individually or in pairs.
 Once completed, have students present their hero profiles to the class.
