1. The area of a circle is 99m2. What is the arc length subtended by an angle 1400.
(Take p = 3.142). (2marks)

2. A solid metal cylinder with radius 7cm and height 5cm is melted down and recast
into a spherical ball. Calculate to 1 decimal place the surface area of this ball.

3. A cylindrical pipe made of steel is 1.4m long and has an external diameter of 20cm. If
the steel is 1cm thick, find the volume of steel used in making the pipe. (3marks)

4. A cylindrical water tank is of diameter 14 metres and height 3.5 metres. Find the
capacity of the tank in liters. (3 marks)

5. The following is a net of a prism.

Sketch the prism hence calculate it’s surface area. (3 marks)

6. The area of a sector of a circle is 16 cm2. Given the circle radius is 8 cm calculate the
angle θ subtended by the sector. (3 marks)

7. Calculate the area of the shaded region below, given that AC is an arc of a circle centre B.

8. The figure below shows a circle centre O and radius 7cm. sector OAB subtends an angle
of 600 at the centre of the circle as shown. Calculate to 2 decimal places the area of the
shaded region (π =22/7). (4 marks)

9. The figure below is a rhombus ABCD of sides 4cm. BD is an arc of circle centre C. given
that <ABC = 1380. Find the area of shaded region. (4 marks)

10. An arc of a circle is 60mm long. It subtends an angle of 72 0 at the centre of the circle.
Find the radius of the circle. (3marks)

11. A farmer decides to put two-thirds of his farm under crops. Of this, he put a quarter
under maize and four-fifths of the remainder under beans. The rest is planted with carrots.
If 0.9acres are under carrots, find the total area of the farm (3marks)

are required to fill the whole tube and 262cm3 are required to fill it to a level which is

3. The figure below has a cross-section of a horizontal cylindrical pipe of centre O and radius
24cm. The shaded region represents water in the pipe to a depth of 16cm. The pipe is 12m

4. A glass of radius 3 cm in the form of a cylinder contains water to a height of 9cm.
