KICK

BOXING
Kick Boxing is a sports modality, a contact sport in
which kicks and punches are combined throughout
the body.
It is born from the mixture of fighting or boxing
combat techniques with techniques from other
martial arts such as karate or taekwondo.
Kickboxing is practiced for self-defense, general
fitness, or as a contact sport.

RULES

Kickboxing has a number of different rule sets.

For example, the Eastern rules


they allow punches, high and low kicks and even
knee strikes.

while American kickboxing is limited to punches


and kicks above the belt only (high kicks).
TECHNIQUES

PUNCHING

Punching techniques are very identical to boxing punches, including

Jab – direct hit from the front hand. A jab can be aimed at an
opponent's head or body, and is often used in conjunction with
the "cross" punch.

Cross – back hand straight punch

Hook – rounded strike to the head or body in an arcing motion.

Uppercut – upward strike hitting the chin


TECHNIQUES

KICKS

The standard kick techniques are:

Front Kick or Push Kick – Hitting the face or chest with the balls of
the foot.

Roundhouse kick or round kick – strike with the forefoot or shin of


the head or body in a chopping motion.

Side kick – Strike with the heel of the foot with the leg parallel to
the ground, can be performed either to the head, leg or body
