Lecture_1: Evaluating software for teaching and learning

1. Introduction
This lesson attempts to inform you (preservice teacher) to identify education criteria that is essential
for evaluating general characteristics of software for teaching and learning.
You will often need to consider many aspects that are necessary before you consider whether a
particular software satisfies the need for teaching and learning.

2. Outcomes:
By the end of this lesson you should be able to:
 Identify the general criteria to evaluate educational software.
 Differentiate between:
 Proprietary software, Freeware, Shareware and Open source software (OSS)
