application form for College of Engineering Application Fee Waiver. Fill out that form and wait for application fee waiver for Ph.D.

• Although it is mentioned in some university website that they do not provide any application fee waiver for International Students, feel free to send
an email to the Department’s Graduate Program Coordination/Admission Official and Graduate School Official asking for application fee waiver. I got
application fee waiver from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and University of California, San Diego by emailing the Department Graduate Program
Coordinators.
• Sometimes the Graduate Admission Office organizes admission related webinar and an application fee waiver code is provided at some parts of the
webinar.

 Application Fee Waiver Request Process in US universities.
• I have only mentioned universities that has high chance of providing application fee. However, you can send an email to graduate office and see if they
can provide you a fee waiver.
• It’s better to apply for fee waiver request as early as possible because universities might have a limit to provide application fee waiver.
• If you don’t have any Master’s degree, don’t worry. Maximum US universities do not need a Master’s Degree for Ph.D. application. You only need a
Bachelor’s Degree.
• Many universities have waived the GRE requirement for MS/ Ph.D. programs. So, if you don’t like GRE, apply to universities that waived GRE
requirement. GRE requirement is Department/ Program specific. You need to check if the Program/ Department you are applying to requires GRE or
not.
• TOEFL or IETLS? All US universities accept TOEFL, however, some do not accept IELTS. Therefore, I would suggest to take TOEFL to be on the safe side.
• Consider joining the group https://www.facebook.com/groups/314893828609802. A number of Statement of Purpose, Recommendation Letter and
other relevant files regarding visa, application process, etc. can be found in this group. Check the file section to look for GRE waived universities,
professor list of different research areas, etc. Also, you can ask any query relevant to US university application. A lot of people are up there to help.
