Photo or Imaging Editing is used for the purpose
of improving the visual quality of a photo. It
is also used to present a concept. Digital
photos contain raster images in the form of
picture elements or pixels.These pixels contain
the image's smallest element. The pixels can be
changed individually or as a group.
Photographers use photo editing software to
create artistic add-ons to reinvent their
photos. Lighting, white balance, red-eye, and
photo enhancement can be done using a photo
editing software.

GIMP: This program has tools to correct

colors, enhance brightness and
contrast, sharpen and blur images,
remove red-eye, and add special
effects. It can also create an
animation.
Irfanview: This program is commonly used to
view images. It has editing tools that are
easy to use. It can rotate and resize,
adjust brightness, and contrast, and apply a
range of special effects.
Paint.NET: This software has a support for
layers that can edit a part of the photo. It
has extended plugins that can be used
together with the basic editing tools. It
has paint tools just like the Windows MS
Paint program. It is easy to use and can be
downloaded free.
PhotoFiltre: This image has an image
retouching tool. It is free for personal
use only. Photofiltre has a lot of photo
editing features that can create artistic
effects. The PhotoMask tool gives stylish
contour and transparency effects to the
pictures.
Funny Photo Maker:This program has no
layer support and selection tool but can
apply different effects with its frames,
fun faces, collage, and artistic
effects. It is user-friendly and fun to
use.

Image Size Alteration: Image editors can

resize images without sacrificing the
quality of the photos. It is also called
image scaling. The pixels can be made
larger or smaller.
Image Crop: Cropping can discard the unwanted part of the
image on the edges. It creates a new image by selecting a
desired part from the image being cropped. Image cropping
does not affect the resolution of the picture.
Sharpen or Soften Images: Image editor
can sharpen, blur, enhance edges, and
soften background on your picture.
Removal of Unwanted Elements: This is used to
discard elements within the picture without
sacrificing the quality of the image.
Color Change and Selective Color Change: Image editing
software has color swapping capability. You can change
the color of a specific item within the picture or you
can change the color of the whole photo itself.
Image Orientation: Image editing can change the image
orientation. It can be flipped horizontally or
vertically or adjusted-moved to a certain degree or
angle.
Image enhancement: The process of improving the
quality of a digitally-stored image by manipulating
the image.
Merging of Images: Image editor can connect or merge
one or more individual images into a single file.
Special Effects: Image editing software can create
unusual effects in each picture. It can be transformed
to different forms and combined as one picture.
Clone: Image editors can clone a picture and make it
appear as one picture.
