This " USE AND MAINTENANCE "manual contains the necessary information for the correct use of
the machine and it is an integral part thereof. It must be easily available to the personnel assigned to
the machine’s operation and maintenance.
The user, the operator and the person assigned to the maintenance are obliged to get acquainted with
this manual’s contents.
The descriptions and the illustrations in this manual must not be intended as binding but merely as
indicative.
It being understood the described essential characteristics of the machines, CHIOR MECCANICA
s.r.l., reserves itself the right of carrying out at any time and without having to inform the users,
possible modifications to machine parts, details and accessories as it may deem it convenient for
product’s improvement or for constructive or commercial requirements.
The machines described in this manual for use and maintenance are electrical mixers with rotating
blade fixed on a rotating support fitted with a depth adjustment device with oil pressure system for any
type of sewage (liquid organic refuse produced by animal farming).
The form of the blade is of particular interest having been studied in order to allow the suction and the
desegregation of the air into very minute particles suitable for a better homogenisation of the sewage
and to obtain an optimum mixture without transmitting dangerous vibrations to the supporting
structure.
The galvanized structure, the oil bath transmission system and the quality of the materials used
guarantee the machine’s long working life and an easy maintenance.

5. Technical data
The moving operation of the machine could be carried out through a lifting crane with a slinging
capacity of at least 7 (seven) times the machine weight (if the slinging is made of textile fibre), or with
a forklift.
Place the machine in the middle of the transporting means and efficiently anchor it by using
appropriate belts.
These approaches are sufficient to guarantee a good ‘stability’ during transporting phase. It is
advisable, however, to take care when moving the machine.
ATTENTION:
Do not lift the machine by pressing on the machine’s weak parts. Ensure that the structure is in
equilibrium before lifting it. Do not carry out abrupt manoeuvres and neither knock the steel parts with
the forks of the forklift.
You are kindly requested to scrupulously abide by these prescriptions, prohibitions and general warnings:
7.1. Verify that no machine’s components have been damaged during transport. Should this be the case
immediately contact the Manufacturer’s Technical Service by telephone or facsimile (see the relative
numbers indicated above).
7.2. Verify that the structure where the machine is being installed conforms to legislative safety provisions as set
by the Community Directives.
7.3. The feeding connection must be carried out by specialized personnel and according to the instructions
supplied by the Manufacturer, which, in any case, is not responsible for any electrical connection (abide by
the instructions indicated on the tag affixed to the motor).
7.4. Carefully read the information and the indications reported in this manual for use and maintenance before
starting operating the machine; ensure, in particular, to have well understood how the machine works.
7.5. Verify, before starting up the machine, that the rotor is not outside the external perimeter of the tank, or in
any other area freely accessible to people.
7.6. The Manufacturer shall not be responsible for any alterations to the machine characteristics caused by
unauthorized modifications to the purchased machine. It is forbidden to use the equipment for uses other
than those for which the machine has been planned (as for example, the treatment of chemical products that
could cause permanent damages to the machine).
7.7. Disconnect the machine from all electrical and hydraulic feeding upon terminating a working cycle.
7.8. The use, even partial, of the equipment by not expressly authorized personnel is forbidden.
7.9. It is forbidden to carry out maintenance, repairs or modifications work if not strictly necessary to the cycle
work while the machine is in action. It is compulsory that all electrical feeding be disconnected from the
machine; before undertaking any maintenance job.
7.10. Please note that, as far as machines with oil bath transmissions are concerned, transmission pipe and the
gears, if present, must be refilled with oil.
NOTE: the oil tank must be continually refilled in order to keep the shaft bearings lubricated thus avoiding
anomalous functioning with consequent breakages.
7.11. Avoid, during assembly, that the machine rubber parts get in contact with oil, grease or oil derivates.
The completely assembled machine must be positioned by using the appropriate turning support fitted
with a fixing vice to the edge of the tank and to the rotating thrust block with safety holders. The fixing
must be carried out on a strong and safe structure.
The installation, which is for the user’s account, must be carried out by adopting the applicable safety
norms; (see the picture as an example concerning the machine fixing modality).
The machine is fitted with the electric components indispensable for the correct functioning (motor).
It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure the correct connection of the said components, which will
have to be according to the environmental conditions in the installation locality, and to the international
norms ruling in the nation where the installation will be carried out.
ATTENTION:
The electrical plant required to start up the machine must be installed by personnel qualified to issue a
Certificate of Conformity to the technical norms for this type of plants. No connections must be carried
out with wet hands or under environmental conditions that could expose to contact with parts under
voltage.
The technical characteristics of the motors installed on the machines are reported on the appropriate
tag fixed on the said motors.
Upon having carried out the connection, verify that the rotation of the motor corresponds to the
direction as shown by the arrow placed on the reducer; in case of inverted rotation, eliminate the
electrical current and invert the feeding cables position on the terminal board.
Before the definite starting up of the machine, verify the installation phases, the fixing to the ground
and the external feeding connections (described under the previous paragraphs) that are synthetically
repeating hereunder:
10.1. Complete acquaintance with the machine’s USE AND MAINTENANCE manual.
10.2. Verify the correct actuation of the machine’s installation and fixing phases (verify the entire
machine’s stability and safety).
10.3. Verify the correct actuation of the electrical feeding connections phases of the machine and the
perfect closure of the boxes containing the said connections.
10.5. The blade must be accurately washed in order to avoid that, during long idle phases the solid
present in the sieve, blocks the said blade
ATTENTION:
Read the "PRESCRIPTIONS, PROHIBITION AND GENERAL WARNING " paragraph of this use and
maintenance manual before starting up,
Upon the machine complete first start-up, pay particular attention to anything that could indicate a
particular anomaly (as for example, high noise, irregular rotation, vibration, etc.).
This procedure will have to be repeated every time the plant is started after an idle period longer than
7 (seven) days.
11.1. During machine inspection and during working phases, wear suitable cloths (working overall, gloves, anti
accident shoes, not unfastened cloths, etc.).
11.3. Due to poisonous gases emitted by the sewage, verify that the working environment is adequately aired
and that there are no flames nearby.
11.4. Do not ever inspect the sewage tank on your own. In cases of loss of equilibrium or sudden illness due to
exhalations, an immediate helping intervention would be necessary.
11.5. Cover the apertures when no operations are carried out in the tank.
11.6. It is recommended that the machine be used by adult and responsible people and in places inaccessible to
children.
11.7. No repairs or adjustments should be undertaken while the machine is working or if its is connected to the
electrical feeding.
11.8. It is recommended to use the machine with all the protections correctly fixed, and to follow the instructions
indicated in the previous paragraphs to avoid possible contacts with moving parts. Do not damage or
remove the protections.
11.9. Do not ever let the machine functioning without having refilled the oil (transmission pipes and gear groups).
11.10. Ensure, before starting any working phases, that the entire working group is stable, (machine and/or
tractor).
11.11. Make sure that during maintenance activity the machine is properly disconnected from feeding elements.
11.13. Avoid that during the machine use, adjustment or maintenance the rubber parts (gaskets, etc.) get into
contact with oils, greases or oil derivates.
11.14. ensure that the motor rotation is towards the direction indicated by the arrow fixed of the motor (if
expected).
11.15. Verify that the electrical feeding connection is adequately protected against rain.
11.16. In case the delivery is connected to pipes or hoses, control that the appropriate fixing joints are in perfect
conditions, do not stay in the proximity due to burst or tearing danger.
11.17. Work and keep the machine in a dry place protected from rains in case of prolonged non-use.
12.1. The thermal switch protecting the motors intervenes stopping the machine:
- verify that the switch calibration is correct, in case of need, correctly set the intervention
threshold;
- verify the state of the electrical motor with suitable instruments and in case substitute it.
It is necessary, in order to carry out the foregoing operations, that the described safety norms
relative to electrical apparatuses be complied with.
ATTENTION :
All the maintenance and repairs operations carried out on the machine must be preceded by the
interruption of electrical feeding.
13.1. Periodically verify the oil level of the components requiring lubrication (transmission pipes and
gear groups) complete substitution every 2 (two) years
13.2. Grease periodically the rotating parts (lubricators, articulated joints of pistons, toothed wheels,
etc.)
13.3. Washing should be undertaken upon termination of the machine utilization to avoid that the liquid
organic refuse (sewage) solidifies thus causing eventual damages.
13.4. Control the mixing blade wear conditions and substitute it if necessary.
13.5. Should the air intake pipe be obstructed, clear it by pouring water from the upper end.
For possible maintenance and repairs interventions it is peremptory to use the spare parts indicated
