1 INTRODUCTION
This instruction is part 1 of the module that gives the procedure to install the SmartPath to AlluraClarity
upgrade.

2 WORKFLOW
2.1 Before Installing

WARNING
Make sure that all hospital power supplies are off.

WARNING
Do not manually lift heavy objects. Labor protection rules give the maximum weight for one
person (guideline is 23 kg).
For heavy objects, use tools or lift with more persons.

3 INSTALLING REAR COVER EXTENDER
Do this procedure for the M-cabinet.

The cabinet rear cover extender kit


contains:
· Two sides (left and right side)

· Top bracket
· Top ventilation cover
· Two ground cables and mounting
material

1. Remove the top ventilation cover.


2. Install one of the two sides.
3. The side must be hooked in the
existing rear cover at the top,
to get some room between the rear
cover and the top bracket, loosen the
left or right side lightly.

4. Hook the side between the rear cover
and the top bracket.
5. Tighten the screws of the top bracket
by hand.

6. Tighten the top bracket again with the


tools.

7. Install the side at the lower part with a


bracket.
 Make sure that the correct
installation of the bracket and
make sure that the sides and rear
cover sides are aligned.
 Tighten the bracket.

8. To install the other side, use the same
procedure.

9. Install the top bracket between the


two sides.

10. Connect the two ground cables to the


protective ground stud of the existing
cabinet rear cover (CRC).

11. Prepare the top ventilation cover:

If necessary, make additional cable


inlet holes:
 Cut a cable inlet hole into the
ventilation cover.
 Remove sharp edges.
 Use the supplied materials with the
rear cover for the cable protection.

12. Tighten the top ventilation cover at the


inner side of the rear cover with the
screw.
Tighten the two screws (left and right
side).

4 INSTALLING MCS AND MCC
4.1 Putting MCS into Examination Room
1. Move the monitor ceiling suspension
(MCS) into the examination room.
2. Put the MCS below the monitor ceiling
carriage (MCC).

3. Cut all straps and remove the


cardboard boxes and the support
block.

4.2 Installing the Actuator or Fixed Column


1. Remove the installation material from
the MCS package.
The package is on top of the MCS.

NOTE

The bag contains two


safety bolts, four bolts with
two washers each, and a
sealing cap for the X-ray-
on lamp.

2. Put the actuator or fixed column on top


of the MCS.
3. For the actuator, connect cable WMA-
SV1 to the MCS.
4. If you cannot access the WMA-SV1
connector, remove the cover of the
utility box.
5. If necessary, install the cover of the
utility box.

6. Put the actuator or fixed column in the
vertical position.

7. Assemble the four bolts and Nord-Lock


washers as shown.

WARNING
Use the new bolts. The bolts
that are removed from the
old MCS are not reliable to
use again.

8. Install the four bolts with the Nord-Lock


washers on the corner of the actuator
or fixed column.
9. Tighten the four bolts with a torque of
45 - 50 Nm.

10. Apply Loctite 243 to the two safety


bolts. Loctite is included in the
expendable kit in the documentation
box.
11. Install the two safety bolts in the
flange.
12. Tighten the safety bolts with a torque
of 15 - 20 Nm.

NOTE

The two safety bolts have


different lengths. It does
not matter which bolt is
installed on the left or on
the right side.

4.3 Lifting Monitor Ceiling Suspension

NOTE

For a fixed column, do


NOT remove the cover
ring.

1. If not done already, remove the cover


ring from the MCC transversal
carriage.

2. Install the support block on top of the


MCC transversal carriage.

3. Cut the cable binders that prevent that


the lifting bars drop off.

4. Install the hoist on the supplied


bracket.

5. Install the hoist assembly to the
hoisting frame of the MCS.

6. Install the wire along the guiding
wheels.

7. Attach the end of the wire to the
hoisting frame.

8. Put tension on the hoist wire.


9. Loosen the hoisting frame (four bolts)
from the transport frame.
10. Lift the MCS a few centimeters.

11. Remove one beam on top of the


transport frame. Remove the beam on
the monitor side of MCS.

12. Remove the cable box to the monitor


side of the MCS.

NOTE

Make sure that you do not


damage the ornamental
hose when you remove the
cable box and when you
operate the hoist.

13. Lift the MCS a few centimeters.
14. If there are monitors on the MCS,
make sure that you move the monitors
carefully out of the transport frame.

15. Remove the pallet with transport frame


from of the examination room.

16. Lift the MCS into the MCC. To keep


the actuator vertical, give some
support on one side.

4.4 Installing Actuator or Fixed Column to MCC
1. Install the nylon bearing plate.

NOTE

Make sure that the


actuator is centered in the
transversal carriage,
because the Teflon bearing
plate must fit fully around
it.

2. Put the guiding bush on top of the


Teflon bearing plate.

3. Install the support pin.

4. Install a spring locking pin on the two


sides of the support pin.

CAUTION

Make sure that the spring


locking pins are fully
inserted.

5. Loosen the wire.
6. Wind the wire.

7. Remove the hoist with the attached


part of the hoisting frame.

8. Remove the remaining part of the


hoisting frame in one piece.

9. Remove the support block.

10. Install the rotation lock washer.

4.5 Installing 56-inch Large Screen Monitor
If there is a 56-inch monitor, do this procedure.

4.5.1 Installing 56-inch Monitor on Monitor Ceiling Suspension

1. If the release bracket is not against


the MCS rear plate, turn the bolts of
the bracket in a clockwise direction
as far as possible.
2. Move the monitor mounting arms on
top of the monitor frame backwards to
create sufficient space for the hoist
tools.

NOTE

The inside bracket moves


to the rear plate, which
creates room to install the
monitor.

3. Move the pallet with the monitor box


below the MCS.

NOTE

These installation tools are


stored in the monitor
package:
· hoist tool (2x)
· chain bag to store the
chain (2x)
· strap 100 cm
· strap 200 cm
· strap 400 cm (4x)

NOTE

If an old 56-inch monitor


was removed, the new
monitor is in the box and
the old monitor is on the
pallet.

4. Put the strap of 200 cm through the
handles of the new monitor.

5. To limit the length to 50 cm, fold the


strap of 100 cm, and put the folded
strap on top of the MCC.

CAUTION

To prevent damage, use


protective material between
the strap and the monitor
ceiling carriage (MCC)

6. Install the two hoist tools between the


two straps.

7. To prevent damage to the monitor,


catch the loose ends of the hoist
chains in the chain bags.

17. Remove the two hoist tools from the
strap (200 cm) on the monitor side.

Do not remove only one
hoist tool from the strap on

1. Unwind the cables with their full length


along the floor.
2. Divide the cables in bundles that apply
to the local situation, for example, to
divide the weight, divide between
signal cables and power cables.

3. On the position of the cut in the cable


hose, add soapstone powder in the
two hoses.

Two cables leave the hose


on the position of the cut:

cable for the examination

4. To divide the soap stone powder,


shake the hoses.

5. Put the two cable hose parts in the

10 PREPARING CABINET REUSED AND RELABELED CABLES
10.1 M-Cabinet Cables
1. Make sure that the reused cables are present. Refer to the table that follows.

CAUTION

Put fiber optics in a safe place on the wall or in a protective sleeve.

2. Where shown in the table, apply new labels to the cables.

11 CABINETS
1. The 2R cabinet is reused. For an FD20/10 system, install the new flat detector temperature control
unit (chiller). Refer to the system installation instruction Installation, System Installation Part 1
(DMR138821).
2. Unpack the cabinets. Refer to the system installation instruction Unpack, Transport, Mount
Cabinets (DMR101237).

NOTE

To return the old cabinets, use the new cabinet packing materials.

3. Install the M-cabinet. Refer to the system installation instruction Installation, M-cabinet-FD
(DMR107785).
4. Install the R-Cabinet. Refer to the system installation instruction System Installation Part 1
(DMR138821).
5. If there is a FlexVision or EP cockpit subsystem, Install the B-cabinet, Refer to the system
installation instruction Installation, B-cabinet (DMR133796).
