1 INTRODUCTION
This instruction is part 1 of the module that gives the procedure to install the SmartPath to AlluraClarity
upgrade.

2 WORKFLOW
2.1 Before Installing
WARNING
Make sure that all hospital power supplies are off.
WARNING
Do not manually lift heavy objects. Labor protection rules give the maximum weight for one
person (guideline is 23 kg).
For heavy objects, use tools or lift with more persons.
2.2 Parts that are Reused

For an overview of reused parts, refer to the Installation manual “Disassembly System” (DMR163545).
A schematic overview of reused parts is shown on the next page.

3 INSTALLING REAR COVER EXTENDER
Do this procedure for the M-cabinet.
The cabinet rear cover extender kit

contains:
· Two sides (left and right side)
· Top bracket
· Top ventilation cover
· Two ground cables and mounting
material
1. Remove the top ventilation cover.

2. Install one of the two sides.
3. The side must be hooked in the
existing rear cover at the top,
to get some room between the rear
cover and the top bracket, loosen the
left or right side lightly.

4. Hook the side between the rear cover
and the top bracket.
5. Tighten the screws of the top bracket
by hand.
6. Tighten the top bracket again with the

tools.
7. Install the side at the lower part with a

bracket.
 Make sure that the correct
installation of the bracket and
make sure that the sides and rear
cover sides are aligned.
 Tighten the bracket.

8. To install the other side, use the same
procedure.
9. Install the top bracket between the

two sides.
10. Connect the two ground cables to the

protective ground stud of the existing
cabinet rear cover (CRC).

11. Prepare the top ventilation cover:
If necessary, make additional cable

inlet holes:
 Cut a cable inlet hole into the
ventilation cover.
 Remove sharp edges.
 Use the supplied materials with the
rear cover for the cable protection.
12. Tighten the top ventilation cover at the

inner side of the rear cover with the
screw.
Tighten the two screws (left and right
side).

4 INSTALLING MCS AND MCC
4.1 Putting MCS into Examination Room
1. Move the monitor ceiling suspension
(MCS) into the examination room.
2. Put the MCS below the monitor ceiling
carriage (MCC).
3. Cut all straps and remove the

cardboard boxes and the support
block.
4.2 Installing the Actuator or Fixed Column

1. Remove the installation material from
the MCS package.
The package is on top of the MCS.
NOTE
The bag contains two

safety bolts, four bolts with
two washers each, and a
sealing cap for the X-ray-
on lamp.
2. Put the actuator or fixed column on top

of the MCS.
3. For the actuator, connect cable WMA-
SV1 to the MCS.
4. If you cannot access the WMA-SV1
connector, remove the cover of the
utility box.
5. If necessary, install the cover of the
utility box.

6. Put the actuator or fixed column in the
vertical position.
7. Assemble the four bolts and Nord-Lock

washers as shown.
WARNING
Use the new bolts. The bolts
that are removed from the
old MCS are not reliable to
use again.
8. Install the four bolts with the Nord-Lock

washers on the corner of the actuator
or fixed column.
9. Tighten the four bolts with a torque of
45 - 50 Nm.
10. Apply Loctite 243 to the two safety

bolts. Loctite is included in the
expendable kit in the documentation
box.
11. Install the two safety bolts in the
flange.
12. Tighten the safety bolts with a torque
of 15 - 20 Nm.
NOTE
The two safety bolts have

different lengths. It does
not matter which bolt is
installed on the left or on
the right side.

4.3 Lifting Monitor Ceiling Suspension
NOTE
For a fixed column, do

NOT remove the cover
ring.
1. If not done already, remove the cover

ring from the MCC transversal
carriage.
2. Install the support block on top of the

MCC transversal carriage.
3. Cut the cable binders that prevent that

the lifting bars drop off.
4. Install the hoist on the supplied

bracket.

5. Install the hoist assembly to the
hoisting frame of the MCS.

6. Install the wire along the guiding
wheels.

7. Attach the end of the wire to the
hoisting frame.
8. Put tension on the hoist wire.

9. Loosen the hoisting frame (four bolts)
from the transport frame.
10. Lift the MCS a few centimeters.
11. Remove one beam on top of the

transport frame. Remove the beam on
the monitor side of MCS.
12. Remove the cable box to the monitor

side of the MCS.
NOTE
Make sure that you do not

damage the ornamental
hose when you remove the
cable box and when you
operate the hoist.

13. Lift the MCS a few centimeters.
14. If there are monitors on the MCS,
make sure that you move the monitors
carefully out of the transport frame.
15. Remove the pallet with transport frame

from of the examination room.
16. Lift the MCS into the MCC. To keep

the actuator vertical, give some
support on one side.

4.4 Installing Actuator or Fixed Column to MCC
1. Install the nylon bearing plate.
NOTE
Make sure that the

actuator is centered in the
transversal carriage,
because the Teflon bearing
plate must fit fully around
it.
2. Put the guiding bush on top of the

Teflon bearing plate.
3. Install the support pin.
4. Install a spring locking pin on the two

sides of the support pin.
CAUTION
Make sure that the spring

locking pins are fully
inserted.

5. Loosen the wire.
6. Wind the wire.
7. Remove the hoist with the attached

part of the hoisting frame.
8. Remove the remaining part of the

hoisting frame in one piece.
9. Remove the support block.
10. Install the rotation lock washer.

4.5 Installing 56-inch Large Screen Monitor
If there is a 56-inch monitor, do this procedure.
4.5.1 Installing 56-inch Monitor on Monitor Ceiling Suspension
1. If the release bracket is not against

the MCS rear plate, turn the bolts of
the bracket in a clockwise direction
as far as possible.
2. Move the monitor mounting arms on
top of the monitor frame backwards to
create sufficient space for the hoist
tools.
NOTE
The inside bracket moves

to the rear plate, which
creates room to install the
monitor.
3. Move the pallet with the monitor box

below the MCS.
NOTE
These installation tools are

stored in the monitor
package:
· hoist tool (2x)
· chain bag to store the
chain (2x)
· strap 100 cm
· strap 200 cm
· strap 400 cm (4x)
NOTE
If an old 56-inch monitor

was removed, the new
monitor is in the box and
the old monitor is on the
pallet.

4. Put the strap of 200 cm through the
handles of the new monitor.
5. To limit the length to 50 cm, fold the

strap of 100 cm, and put the folded
strap on top of the MCC.
CAUTION
To prevent damage, use

protective material between
the strap and the monitor
ceiling carriage (MCC)
6. Install the two hoist tools between the

two straps.
7. To prevent damage to the monitor,

catch the loose ends of the hoist
chains in the chain bags.

8. Set the up/down lever to the correct
(up) position.

approximately 10 mm below the utility
box.

After you lifted the

monitors, the four lugs on
the interface plate are on
the correct height with
respect to the four studs
on the monitor frame.

10. Move the monitor frame towards the

monitor.
11. Make sure that the lugs on the
interface plate are aligned with the
studs on the monitor frame.

12. Put the strap (400 cm) around the
monitor and MCS.
CAUTION
To prevent damage, use

protective material between
the strap (400 cm), the
monitor (front), and the
MCS (rear)
13. To pull the monitor in the MCS,

tighten the strap (400 cm) until
approximately 15 mm along the
bottom of the utility box.

14. Let the monitor carefully down and
make sure that the distance between
monitor and utility box is
approximately 25 mm in height and
30 mm in depth direction.
WARNING

Before you remove the
hoist tools, make sure that
the monitor is locked in the
monitor frame. The monitor
can fall when not correctly
locked.

15. To tighten the monitor, turn the bolts

of the release bracket in a
counterclockwise direction.
16. Make sure that the monitor is locked.
WARNING
When the monitor is not
correctly locked, a monitor
collision with other objects
can cause the monitor to
fall.

17. Remove the two hoist tools from the
strap (200 cm) on the monitor side.
WARNING
Do not remove only one
hoist tool from the strap on
top of the MCC. The other
hoist tool falls and can
cause serious injuries,
damage to the monitor, or
monitor frame.
First remove here.
18. Remove the two hoist tools together

with the strap (100 cm) from top of the
MCC at the same time.
19. Release and remove the strap

(400 cm) from the monitor and MCS.
20. Remove the protective material.
21. Attach the identification label of the
56” large screen monitor (supplied
with the FRU package).
22. Put the plastic bag of the new monitor

around the old monitor.
23. Put the packaging middle/bottom
cover of the new monitor on top of the
old monitor.
24. Attach the internal monitor box with
two straps (delivered with monitor
installation tools) on the pallet.
25. Remove the pallet with the old monitor
from the examination room.

4.5.2 Installing Cables and Covers for 56-inch Monitor
1. Connect the power cable.

3. Connect all DVI connectors (with DVI

receivers Dual Link).

4. Connect the Ethernet cable.

5. Move the RS232/Ethernet select
switch towards the Ethernet cable.

6. Connect the ground cable on the
center panel.

7. Put the power switch in the ON (I)

position. The switch is on the rear
bottom side of the monitor.
8. Connect the ground cable to the

aesthetic cover.
CAUTION
Make sure that the monitor

cables do not get jammed
between the aesthetic
cover and the monitor
frame.
9. Install the aesthetic cover to the

bottom side of the monitor with six
screws.

10. Install the rear covers on the MCS
(center cover shown).
4.6 Installing 19-inch or 21-inch monitors

If there are 19-inch or 21-inch monitors, do this procedure.
4.6.1 Insulation Plate for LCD 19- or 21-inch monitors

If a monitor, for example, a haemo monitor, gets its power supply from the hospital mains instead of
from the Allura system, then install the monitor with an insulation plate.
1. Remove the monitor isolation kit from Insulation

the package. The monitor isolation kit bushes (4x)
is stored in one of the cardboard
boxes.
NOTE
With the monitor isolation

kit, the monitor is
galvanically isolated from
the frame.

CAUTION
When you loosen the

monitor, hold the monitor.
The monitor can fall.
1. Pull the monitor out

2. Remove the Vesa plate from the
monitor.
3. Install the insulation plate with (4x)

insulation bushes, plain washers
(small) and bolts 25 mm on the
monitor.
4. Install the monitor in the monitor

frame.
5. Align the monitor with the other
monitors in depth, with bolts (B.)

6. Connect the DVI, power, and ground
cables.
NOTE
For DVI monitor

configurations, connect the
cables in this sequence:
1. Ground cable
2. Power cable
3. Signal cable (DVI
cable with receiver)
4.6.2 Installing 19- or 21-inch Monitors and Interface on MCS

If there are reused 19-inch or 21-inch monitors, install these monitors on the MCS.
The monitor interface is installed with the

4x bolts B. The old monitor interfaces are
reused.
1. Apply Loctite 243 to the top of the 4x

bolts B.
2. Install the 4x nuts A onto the bolts B,
distance is 5 mm ± 1 mm as shown.
3. Connect the ground cable to the
monitor interface.

4. Install the VESA plate on the monitor.

5. Tighten the 4 screws on the rear of
the monitor.
6. Put the monitor into the MCS.
7. Install 2x washers and bolts.

8. Tighten the 2 bolts on the monitor
interface.
9. Install the monitor rear cover.
10. Connect the DVI cable, power cable,
and ground cable to the monitor.
11. Remove the 2x bolts and spring
washers.

4.6.3 Installing Top Monitors with Insulation Plate
If there is a top monitor with a power supply from the hospital mains instead of the Allura system power,
for example a haemo monitor, then install the monitor with an insulation plate.
1. Remove the monitor isolation kit from Insulation

the package. The monitor isolation kit bushes (4x)
is stored in one of the cardboard
boxes.
NOTE
The monitor isolation kit is

to galvanically isolate the
monitor from the monitor
frame.
2. Remove the two M6 bolts from the

Insulation
insulation plate.

3. Install the insulation plate with (4x)
insulation bushes, plain washers
(small) and bolts 25 mm on the
monitor.
4. Install the monitor.

5. Adjust the position of the monitor with
bolts 1, 2 and 3.
6. Tighten all bolts to make sure that the
monitor stays in position during
start/stop movements and collisions.
Tighten bolts 1 and 2 with a torque of
20 - 25 Nm.
7. Do this procedure again for monitor 8.
Use bolt 3 to adjust the monitor
height.
NOTE
Make sure the monitor

cannot hit the MCC during
height movement.
8. Connect the ground, power and DVI

cables.

4.6.4 Installing Top Monitors
If there are one or two top monitors install the monitors on top of the MCS.
1. Install the mounting arm with four bolts

on top of the MCS.
NOTE
Put the arm to make sure

that the weight of both
monitors is balanced. Do
not use dummies or
different monitors.
2. Install monitor 7 (four bolts + washer +

spring washer).
3. Connect the ground, power and DVI

a) Ground cable

4. Adjust the position of the monitor with
bolts 1, 2 and 3. Use bolt 3 to adjust
the monitor height.
NOTE
Make sure that the monitor

cannot hit the MCC during
height movement.
5. Tighten all bolts to make sure that the

monitor stays in position during the
start or stop of movements and
collisions.
Tighten bolts 1 and 2 with a torque of
20 - 25 Nm.
6. Do this procedure again for monitor 8.
End result
(with 56” monitor)
4.7 Installing Intercom Microphone-Speaker Unit on MCS

Install the reused intercom microphone-speaker unit.

1. Remove the cover of the utility box
from the top of the Monitor Ceiling
Suspension.
2. Install the Microphone-Speaker (MS)
unit cable through the cover of the
utility box.
3. Install the utility box cover.
4. Attach the two pieces of Velcro tape
on the cover of the utility box.
5. If there is no Velcro tape on the MS

unit, attach the other side of the
Velcro tape on the MS unit.
6. Install the intercom MS cable in the

MS unit:
a) Open the MS unit
b) Loosen the four screws on the
terminal block.
c) Install the intercom cable as
shown.
d) Close the MS unit.

4.8 Installing MCS Cable Hose
NOTE
The MCS cables are routed. When applicable, install any additional cables in the MCS
cable hose now.
1. Unwind the cables with their full length

along the floor.
2. Divide the cables in bundles that apply
to the local situation, for example, to
divide the weight, divide between
signal cables and power cables.
3. On the position of the cut in the cable

hose, add soapstone powder in the
two hoses.
NOTE
Two cables leave the hose

on the position of the cut:
one ground cable and one
cable for the examination
light.
4. To divide the soap stone powder,

shake the hoses.
5. Put the two cable hose parts in the

fixed cable carrier.
NOTE
The two cables must leave

the cable carrier in the
center.

6. Install the upper part of the fixed cable
carrier.
7. Divide the length of the cable hose as

shown in the table and figure.
8. Attach the cable hose at the correct
positions to the cable carriers.

The distances between B and C and between C and D must be equal.

9. Attach the cable hose with a cable
binder to the bracket of the MCS.
10. Make sure that the cable loops are of

equal length.
11. If necessary, install the cable carriers
again.
12. Push the monitors to the end of the rail
and make sure that the cable moves
smoothly.
13. If necessary, turn the hose in the cable
carrier.
14. Attach the cables together with cable

binders.
NOTE
For USA only:

Bundle and do the routing
of the power and signal
cables separately.
15. Attach the cables temporarily to the

location where the ceiling inlet is
installed.

16. Install the cables to their destination.
Refer to the cable diagram.
NOTE
Use the pull wire that was

left when the system was
disassembled.
NOTE
The ceiling inlet is reused.
17. Install the cable hose ceiling inlet.

4.9 Connecting the Examination Light
1. Attach the ground wire of the
examination light to the ground stud
on the MCC.
2. Install the two cables of the

examination light on top of the MCC.
3. Attach the cables with the clamps.

4.10 Installing Sealing Cap on X-ray-On Bracket
If there is an X-ray-on light on the MCC rails, do this procedure.
The bracket for the X-ray-on light is

installed on the MCC rails.
1. Remove the threaded orange cap.

2. Remove the light bulb.
3. Put the sealing cap in the opening.

5 INSTALLING SYSTEMS WITHOUT PHILIPS MCS
1. Install the reused or new monitors.
2. Install the cables to these monitors.

6 INSTALLING CONTROL ROOM CONNECTION BOX
6.1 Installing Control Room Connection Box on Wall or Frame
· Install the CRCB on the bracket that was kept after the disassembly of the old CRCB
· If the CRCB is installed on a support frame, it is kept after the disassembly of the old CRCB.
1. If there is a bracket at the rear side of

the control room connection box,
remove the bracket.
2. Remove the cover.
3. Remove the installation material.
NOTE
If there is no geometry
module connected to this
control room connection
box, the connector labeled
with “stop” is necessary.

4. If cable installation makes it
necessary, remove one corner or put
it on another position.
5. Attach the control room connection

box to the bracket.
6.2 Installing CRCB System Cables
NOTE
To optimize the workflow, first install the cable sets from the control room to the cabinets.

CAUTION
Because of EMC, attach

the cables together for
each connection location.
1. Connect the ground cables as shown

in the picture.

2. Connect the power cables as shown
in the picture.
3. Connect the signal cables.

4. Install the signal cables as shown in
the picture.
5. Connect the Ethernet cables to the
Ethernet switch along the metal
housing of the CRCB and:
 cross the ground cables diagonal
(see picture).
 install as far away as possible from
the other cables until the point
where the bundles leave the
CRCB.

6. Attach all cables together, include
cables from KM extender (mouse,
keyboard, and UTP), except the
Ethernet cables connected to the
Ethernet switch.
7. Attach the Ethernet cables together
and separated from the other cable
bundles to at least 50 cm outside the
CRCB.

7 INSTALLING WALL CONNECTION BOX CABLE SETS
· Install the WCB cable sets to the R- or B-cabinet.
· For each video source, there is a wall connection box.
8 INSTALLING AD7 PATIENT SUPPORT (IF AD5 IS REPLACED)

To install the AD7 patient support:
· For the AD7, refer to DMR162948
· For the AD7 swivel, refer to DMR166936
9 UPGRADING EQUIPMENT RACK

To upgrade the equipment rack, refer to the system installation instruction VGA-to-DVI Upgrade of
Equipment Rack (DMR165213).

10 PREPARING CABINET REUSED AND RELABELED CABLES
10.1 M-Cabinet Cables
1. Make sure that the reused cables are present. Refer to the table that follows.
CAUTION
Put fiber optics in a safe place on the wall or in a protective sleeve.
2. Where shown in the table, apply new labels to the cables.

3. If not already done, remove the old cables.

11 CABINETS
1. The 2R cabinet is reused. For an FD20/10 system, install the new flat detector temperature control
unit (chiller). Refer to the system installation instruction Installation, System Installation Part 1
(DMR138821).
2. Unpack the cabinets. Refer to the system installation instruction Unpack, Transport, Mount
Cabinets (DMR101237).
NOTE
To return the old cabinets, use the new cabinet packing materials.
3. Install the M-cabinet. Refer to the system installation instruction Installation, M-cabinet-FD
(DMR107785).
4. Install the R-Cabinet. Refer to the system installation instruction System Installation Part 1
(DMR138821).
5. If there is a FlexVision or EP cockpit subsystem, Install the B-cabinet, Refer to the system
