Modification of the electronic tachograph

Vehicles L/LK 1620

The above mentioned vehicles, as of chassis of final nº ...101785, are receiving the application of the electronic
tachograph Nº 695 542 76 10 (*), to replace that of Nº 695 542 70 10.
(*) - also applied on vehicles L/LK 1218 and L 1418.
In order to ensure its correct operation, on vehicles equipped with a two speed rear axle (vehicles L/LK 1620),
the additional installation of the command unit Nº 695 545 71 32 and the consequent electrical warness has
been proceeded.

NOTE: The electronic tachograph Nº 695 542 70 10 is also no longer supplied as spare part, being replaced by
that of Nº 695 542 76 10.

The referred modification must be introduced also in the vehicles with chassis of final nº inferior to ...101785, in
case it may be necessary to replace the tachograph originally installed (Nº 695 542 70 10).
For that, the indications/instructions presented as follows should be observed:

ATTENTION! Before starting the intervention in the vehicle, make sure that all the necessary safety measures
have been accomplished, as mentioned in the “S.I. - Service and Safety - Gr.: 00 - Nº: 01/91”, main-
ly regarding the disconnection of the battery cables.

PROCEDURES

• Install the command unit Nº 695 545 71 32 , fastening it in the electrical warness fastening plate, localized
under the dashboard. Make the fixation by using the screws Nº 007985 006515, washers Nº 000125 006420

and nuts Nº 913004 006001 .

The place may accessed through the electric central and/or the instrument panel, already removed to replace
the tachograph.

• Disconnect the blue/black cable from plug D position 1 of the tacograph. After replacing the existing termi-
nal, by that of Nº 002 545 14 28, connect it to the plug Nº 002 545 12 28 - (see the Annex).

• Interrupt the green/yellow and lilac/white cables, connected respectively to the positions 3 and 4 of the ta-
chograph B plug and proceeding from the speed sensing contact (plug XM1). Then:
- connect the extremities proceeding from the speed sensing contact in the plug Nº 002 545 12 28, after in-
stalling the terminal Nº 002 545 14 28 in the same - (see the Annex);
- connect the extremities proceeding from the tachograph B plug (from positions 3 and 4), in the plug Nº 001
545 87 28 , after installing the terminal Nº 000 545 40 26 in the same - (see the Annex).

• Make an additional electrical warness (C) - (see the Annex).

• Through the additional electrical warness (C), connect the command unit to the vehicle’s electrical warness.

• By means of the connectors Nº 682 546 73 41, connect both free cables, of the additional warness (C), to the
cables blue and brown, connected respectively to the positions 1 and 2 of the tachograph B plug - (see the An-
nex).

REMARK:

In case of the electronic tachograph replacement, observe that the new tachograph must be adjusted in accor-
dance with the instructions contained in the S.I. 54 - 05/96.
