Title of micro project: - Disposable contact lens

BRIEF INTRODUCTON: -

Disposable contact lenses are a popular and convenient vision correction option for people with refractive vision
problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness. Unlike traditional reusable contact lenses, disposable contact
lenses are designed to be discarded and replaced at regular intervals, typically daily, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Whether you choose daily disposable lenses for the utmost convenience or extended-wear options for longer
replacement periods, disposable contact lenses provide a flexible and hassle-free solution for vision correction.
It's important to follow your eye care professional's recommendations for wearing and replacing disposable
contacts to maintain optimal eye health and vision.

What Is a Product?

Disposable contact lenses are vision correction devices designed to be worn for a limited period and then
discarded. They provide an alternative to traditional, long-term wear contact lenses that require more extensive
maintenance and care. The structure of a disposable contact lens typically consists of several key components:

a. Base Curve: This is the inner curve of the lens, which matches the curvature of the cornea (the clear, front
part of the eye) to ensure a proper fit and comfort.

b. Optic Zone: This is the central part of the lens that corrects the refractive error (nearsightedness,
farsightedness, or astigmatism) and provides clear vision. The optic zone is usually surrounded by a transition
zone, which helps with lens stability and comfort.

c. Periphery: The periphery of the lens provides additional stability and ensures that the lens stays in place on
the eye. It's designed to avoid lens movement or rotation.

d. Water Content: The lens material typically has a high water content to maintain eye moisture and comfort.
e. Handling Tint: Some disposable contact lenses have a faint handling tint to make them more visible and easier
to insert or remove.

f. UV Protection: Certain disposable lenses are designed to provide limited protection against harmful UV rays.
While this isn't a substitute for UV-blocking sunglasses, it offers additional defence.

Aim of Micro-Project: -

- Develop highly effective and sustainable disposable contact lenses that offer superior
vision correction and eye health benefits.

-Improve the optical performance and clarity of disposable contact lenses to enhance the wearer's overall
vision experience.

- Design disposable contact lenses that prioritize wearer comfort and ease of use, considering factors such
as comfort during long wear periods and straightforward insertion and removal.

- Promote eco-conscious practices by developing disposable contact lenses that are environmentally
responsible throughout their lifecycle, from manufacturing to disposal.

OUTCOME INTEGRATED: -

By recognizing the unique requirements of different user groups and customizing disposable contact lens
offerings to meet their specific needs, this project has achieved Customized Vision Solutions, Improved
Vision Comfort, Economic and Health Benefits, etc.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT: -

"Customized Vision Enhancement" refers to the process of tailoring and improving specific vision
correction abilities, knowledge, and expertise to meet the unique visual needs and preferences of
individuals. It involves a continuous and deliberate effort to enhance one's vision quality and comfort, both
in daily life and during specialized activities. Effective customized vision enhancement often involves a
combination of personalized eye care, advanced vision correction technologies, and ongoing adjustments
to ensure optimal visual outcomes.

ACTUAL PROCEDURE FOLLOWED:

 Search for Relevant Information on Customized Vision Enhancement.
 Compile a List of URLs from Reputable Sources.
 Review and summarize the information gathered from these URLs.
 Analyse the data and draw conclusions.
 Document the entire process in a report format.

Good features:

including customized eyeglasses, contact lenses, and surgical procedures.
2. Advanced Diagnostic Technologies: The use of cutting-edge diagnostic tools for precise
assessment of eye conditions and vision challenges.
3. Enhanced Comfort and Clarity: The focus on improving vision comfort and clarity through
custom solutions, reducing issues like glare, halos, and dry eyes.
4. Long-Term Eye Health: Prioritizing not only immediate vision correction but also the long-term
health of the eyes to minimize future issues.
5. Patient Satisfaction: Measuring patient satisfaction and success rates in achieving customized
vision goals.
6. Accessibility: Ensuring that customized vision solutions are accessible and affordable to a wide
range of individuals.
7. Sustainability: Addressing eco-conscious practices in vision enhancement, such as the use of
recyclable materials or reducing waste in the manufacturing process.

Bad features:
1. Cost: Customized vision enhancement procedures and products can be more expensive than
standard options, potentially limiting access for some individuals.
2. Complexity: Tailored solutions often involve more complex diagnostic procedures and treatment
plans, which may require additional time and expertise.
3. Limited Coverage: In some regions, customized vision enhancement may not be covered by
insurance, leading to out-of-pocket expenses.
4. Technological Advancements: The rapid pace of technological change means that customized
vision enhancement solutions may become outdated relatively quickly.
5. Environmental Impact: The production and disposal of customized eyewear or contact lenses may
have environmental implications if sustainable practices are not prioritized.
