This installation manual corresponds to the software version of the central unit v2.8 and the current
CAN firmware version v4.6. Before starting the installation of the StarLine security and telematics
complex, it is recommended to update the software of the central unit and the CAN module to the
latest versions. For convenient configuration, diagnostics, and software updates, you must use the
StarLine Master program (the program is available for download at install.starline.ru and
help.starline.ru/slm). The current version of the CAN software is available at can.starline.ru. After
the update, it is necessary to check the connections and settings of the security telematics complex
for compliance with the current software versions.

2. Basic parameters
Before installing the security telematics complex, it is necessary to program its operation parameters in
the StarLine Master program according to the selected installation option in accordance with the wishes
of the car owner.

On this tab in the “StarLine Master” program, you need to configure flexible logic programs if it is
additionally used during installation.
7. Telematics
On this tab, you need to change the operation parameters of the security and telematics complex according to the selected

Replacing a SIM card in the security and telematics complex StarLine A96
If, during installation, it is necessary to replace the SIM card installed in the security and telematics
complex, you must perform the following steps:
1. Unscrew four screws on the body of the central unit of the security and telematics complex.
2. Remove the central unit board. Remove the installed and install another SIM card as far as it will
go in the direction indicated by the arrows in the figure.
3. Install the board in the case and tighten the four screws.
Attention! It is allowed to remove and install a SIM card only when the power supply of the security
and telematics complex is turned off.

2. Placement of components of the security and telematics complex. Install a siren under the
hood (mount on self-tapping screws) and an engine temperature sensor (using plastic ties). Lay the wires to the passenger compartment
through the regular seal on the left side of the motor shield. To access the siren installation sites and wiring, remove the plastic trim under
the wipers (mounted on two clips).

Install the StarLine R6 underhood unit (if it is used during installation) and make connections
according to the "Typical Connection Diagram" below. To control the status of the hood limit switch
by the underhood unit, in the item "Management of the underhood unit R6" of the "Basic settings"
section, activate the function "Transmit the status of the hood limit switch to R6". Attention!!! StarLine
R6 connection is possible if the Bluetooth module is installed in the security telematics complex.
Fasten the central unit of the StarLine security and telematics complex to plastic ties under the front panel
behind the fuse mounting block. Attention!!! Do not place the central unit at a distance of less than 10 cm
from the metal parts of the car body in order to avoid poor quality of GSM and Bluetooth signal reception!

3. Connection of circuits necessary for the operation of the security and telematics
complex. Connect the ground of the StarLine security and telematics system under the standard nut in
the left kick panel.
Connect the CAN-A bus in the red connector harness in the left kick panel.
