In your own definition, what is HAPPINESS, and what makes you happy?
Happiness, for me, is a positive emotion that makes people happy. Other forms of
happiness may include satisfaction, contentment, joy, and any emotions that is not
negative. Happiness cannot be simply bought by money and there are no shortcuts in order
to attain happiness. It is something that you feel from within yourself. In addition, true
happiness comes from within. It is a state of mind. It can only be achieved by being positive
and avoiding negative thoughts in mind. We can also be happy if we look at the brighter
side of ourselves instead of dwelling on our negative emotions and thoughts. Happiness can
also be felt from someone’s expression of a smile. Smiling is a sign that a person is happy or
is feeling positive emotions that led him or her to feel the feelings of happiness.
There are too many things that make me feel happy. Playing my favorite sports,
which is volleyball, makes me feel happy because even though I do not play well at the said
sport, I do enjoy playing it because I get to play with new people, and I might even get to be
friends with them. Eating with my friends make me feel delighted because not only did I get
to spend quality time with my friends and peers, but I also get to eat delicious food and that
makes my heart filled with joy because these memories can never be repeated ever again.
Though the actions done (which is eating together) can be done again, but the things that
happened during those moments are irreplaceable. Spending time with my dogs also makes
me happy because my dogs are happy whenever we go outside for a walk for them to get
exercised and not to be lazy and do nothing at home.
Another thing that makes me happy is spending time with my family, because
nothing can ever replace the warmth you will feel when spending quality time with your
family, like going out to eat, go to church then to the mall, or to the park. And lastly, I am at
my peak happiness when I am with my special person. My special person means everything
to because my special person always cheers me up when I am down, makes cute and
adorable things that I just want to hug my person, accepts and loves me for who I am, even
though I am still learning a lot, but thanks to my person, I learned and still learning various
things like how to handle my emotions when my partner is not present, taught me how to
love myself in order to love my person as much as I love myself, and also taught me that it
is okay to cry and let my emotions run out if I can’t keep it together. I am so happy that I get
to be treated and loved the way my person is treating me. I could not ask for more than this
because what I am currently feeling right now, as I am typing this, is just pure happiness,
thinking about my person.
