Community Needs Assessment

Community in Barangay Magatos, specifically here in Purok 7-B Daya

Magatos, Asuncion, Davao del Norte.

5 Major Problems:

1.Financial

 Financial problems are one of the issues our community is currently facing.
Some of the families here can’t support their children particularly when it
comes to education. Children work on their own to support their parents and
sustain their needs.

Solution:

 Implement financial literacy programs to educate residents on budgeting,

saving, and managing finances effectively.
 Investment
 Get Stable Job

2.Teenage Early Pregnancy

 Many youths in our community experience early pregnancies. Some of them

don't have occupations and rely solely on their parents, while others are
unable to support their children and end up giving them away.

Solution:

 Sex education in schools

 Youth Empowerment programs
 Access to affordable contraception through clinics, schools and pharmacies.
3.Potholes in road

 Residents complaining because of the potholes in road, they can’t drive

straightly and gently. Some motorcycle accidents occur as a result of it.

Solution

 Road Maintenance
 Road concreting
 Report potholes to Municipal or Government.

4. Unemployed

 Our community has a large number of unemployed people. To provide for

their family, some turn to stealing crops and livestock from our neighbors.

Solution

 Skills Development and Training Programs

 Government Support
 Job opportunities through Job fairs.

5.Prone to Flood

 Our community located at a lowland area, houses here are just beside the
irrigation canal and river. When it rains heavily it will quickly fill the canal
and cause the water level to rise. Some of the farmer’s crop get damaged
that will result to failure.

Solution

 Remove the waste from the water to prevent any blockage.

 Enhance the canal irrigation by increasing its depth.
 Establish proper drainage.
