 INTRODUCTION
• According to the survey conducted by our
society in Hyderabad and surroundings of
Hyderabad there are many old aged people
suffering from lack of food, shelter, clothes. By
this survey our society has decided to start a
new old age home and we have decided to
serve/help atleast some of them.
• As the number of old persons is rising and the
social environment is changing, the
proportion of the destitute among them are
also increasing.These factors are also leading
to the need for a large number of old-age
homes where the old people may enjoy the
end part of their lives in a group of their own.
The impact of the above factors may be
observed in the living arrangements of elderly
Indians.
• Retirement from service usually results in loss of
income and the pensions that the elderly receive
are usually inadequate to meet the cost of living
which is always on the rise. With the reduced
income they are reversed from the state of “Chief
bread winner to a mere dependent” though they
spend their provident fund on marriages of
children, acquiring new property, education of
children and family maintenance. The diagnosis
and treatment of their disease created more
financial problem for old age.
 PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION

We approached them and asked about their

problems. The following are the major
probems stated by them :
• Lack of proper food and shelter.
• No source of income.
• Lack of health and medical facilities.
• No knowledge of the government schemes for
the ageed.
• No proper way of living.
• Lack of mental support.
• Over dependent for daily needs.
• Lack of knowledge about oldage homes and
other ngo’s etc.
 CAUSES OF THE PROBLEM

– Lack of income source.

– Neglecting by their own family.
– Financial constraints of the family.
– Lack of self-confidence.
– Personality problems.
 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
• To identify common causative factors of the problems
faced by the old.
• To bring a family awareness towards the elders.
• To bring awareness in the old about the schemes of the
government that would support their living.
• Giving them proper support by helping them in their
daily needs.
• Joining all the needy old people in the oldage home.
• Collecting funds for the oldage home.
 CONCLUSION
• By undertaking this project, we tried to
eradicate the problems faced by the old
people and help the with what we can. We
hope that our interactions with old people
would instill confidence in them and help
them to come out of the wrong vision about
the society and see how the real world is. We
are happy that we could motivate and guide
almost all of the old people in our area
towards their successful lives.
• We are much privileged as the family
members of some of the old people trusted
our words and admitted their parents in the
NGO. In order put an end point to this
community problem we had done this project.
