Alumni Committee Assignment

Methods that can be used:

1. Automate using google forms:


Since the Alumni committee is already having data on alums, we can 1st auto-
populate a Google form connected with alumni registered email ids. We can
then send monthly reminders to alumni to update as and when there is a
significant change in their location/ job/ contacts etc.
But, the main thing is that data must be auto-populated, so it doesn’t takes
much time for alumni to fill out the whole form entirely again.

2. PhantomBuster 3rd party Linkedin profile scrapper:


We can use a web scrapping tool PhantomBuster. LinkedIn Profile Scraper |

It will help in extracting data that alumni have made public, like jobs, any job
changes, base locations, etc.
Note: A) This is paid tool. B) It may have privacy issues.

3. Scrap Linkedin using selenium:


We can create our own web scrapping tool, to scrap for Alumni’s Linkedin
profiles. This will be free. But this will take time in creating, and a lot of effort.

4. Scrap Linkedin using RPA(Robot Process Automation):


Using RPA can faster the creation of LinkedIn Scrapper.
But, its license is costly, and also it needs a dedicated machine to run. Also, it is
slow in running.

5. Add a blog feature to the Alma Connect website + making it interactive:


We can add a blog feature to the Alma Connect website + make it interactive.
We already have prior data and website setup, need to introduce some
features to increase engagement.
It can also have a blog for alumnus, to increase the footprint of the website.
On the website, we can create a profile section also, which we can ask alumni
to fill out and update regularly. We can get this updated data by using blogs
and other interesting ideas.
