As you know Prom (Matric Farewell) is held at the end of students’ AS year - typically in
September. Ideas for Prom 2025 are already being brainstormed and plans are starting to
take shape!
Typically fundraising for this event is done throughout the AS year to supplement the cost
of the event and to reduce the ticket prices that students need to pay to attend.
In an effort to alleviate some of the financial strain around Prom (Matric Farewell) next year,
it has been agreed that fundraising would start this year so that students can have the type
of event that they envision.
● Money must be paid to Mrs Joubert or Ms Bouwman, not to the school account
○ Students will sign that they have paid
○ At the end of the year a “receipt” will be given with the total that each student
has paid
○ Bulk payments can be made
● To ensure fairness the value of any missed payments from March 2024 to August
2025 will be added to the ticket price payable before the student can attend the
prom
● “Plus ones” will only pay the ticket price
● If the student leaves the school before AS, any money paid up to that date will be
refunded
● If the student does not attend the prom, any money paid as part of the payment plan
is not refunded, as deposits and booking payments for venue hire, photographers,
etc. are already made from the start of 2025
● Fundraising events will still be held in 2025 to reduce ticket prices and supplement
costs further
