4 Reading - Part 1
Look at the statements and the job advertisements below. Which job advertisement (A, B, C or D)
does each statement 1 - 7 refer to? For each statement 1 - 7, mark one letter (A, B, C or D). You will
need to use some of these letters more than once.

A. Computer programmers required. MPT Tech is offering an exciting opportunity for the right candidates.
Successful applicants will receive a competitive salary, company car, four weeks’ annual paid holiday
and free access to the company gym, as well as discounted rates in the canteen. We are looking for
team players with a degree in a relevant field, and at least five years of relevant work experience.
Applicants should be proficient in Javascript, Python and HTML. Think you have what it takes? Send
your resume with a covering letter to the email address below. Should you be asked to attend an
interview, these will be in-person during the month of June in our London office.

B. We are looking for two learning skills teachers to assist in our busy primary school for either two or
three hours each morning, Monday - Friday. Applicants must hold a recognised teaching qualification
for primary students with at least three years of classroom experience. Successful applicants will be
subject to a criminal background check before being offered a position. Pay starts at £25.00 per hour,
though more may be offered for a candidate with relevant experience and qualifications. Our school is

C. Established in 1922, our family-run publishers have been bringing quality magazines to international
readers for over a century. We are now searching for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Managing
Editor. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the publishing process and liaising between
authors, translators, designers, and editors to produce the finest in commercial content. This position
will report to the Managing Director. The successful candidate will work well under pressure, have
great attention to detail, and will offer strong management and delegation skills.

D. We’re seeking bright and energetic, newly-graduated candidates to join our fun-loving sales team.
We offer on-the-job training in the first six months as well as professional development throughout
your time with us. Benefits include a company car, fifteen days paid leave per annum in addition to
public holidays and discounted private healthcare as well as a company pension scheme. No previous
experience is required, just a curiosity for sales and a willingness to succeed.
