Consider
Here are some specific examples of how you could incorporate images into your
table of context:
Long-term impacts: While existing research explores the immediate social and
economic impacts, there's limited understanding of the long-term effects on
urban development, social cohesion, and city-wide infrastructure.
Sustainability: Sustainability aspects like resource management, waste
disposal, and energy efficiency within compounds are underexplored, especially
considering Egypt's environmental challenges.
Governance and regulations: Research on the effectiveness of regulations
governing compound development and management, and their impact on
residents and the broader city, is lacking.
Comparative analysis: Studies comparing the Egyptian experience with similar
models in other developing countries could offer valuable insights and best
practices.
Specific themes:
The role of private developers and their influence on planning and design
decisions.
The economic viability of different compound models and their impact on housing
affordability.
The experiences of different user groups within compounds, such as women,
children, and elderly residents.
The use of technology and smart city solutions within compounds and their
potential benefits and drawbacks.
Research problem.
At urban Neighborhood scale, the concentrations of people and their activities with
the absence of sustainable planning and management results in intensive demands
and impacts on the surrounding environment. Our lifestyles have become less
healthy since our cities act and are managed in unsustainable way and threatening
the stability of global ecology.
Current local initiatives to develop new settlements didn’t consider the design
principles for making or upgrading efficient and sustainable urban fabric. The
absence of information and studies needed for development led to unsuccessful
urban development.
Other related problems could be the absence of government policies towards more
sustainable neighborhoods which should be seen as an essential part of the
government's sustainable development in addition to the absence of integrated and
coherent policy guidance because of the different perspectives of the different
stakeholders, including the local community themselves. Furthermore, the dearth
of local authority resources for local planning is considered one of the main issues.
