Details:
1608 nzdt MOC received Poor Knights Exclusion zone alert email, advising that the Vessel Trans
Future 6/3EER6 had entered the Poor Knight Exclusion zone and clipped the corner in position (35-
26.4100S 174-50.2740E). A Cargo ship 200 metres LOA. Whangarei Maritime Radio ch 16 hailed
the vessel took to ch 67 where the Poor Knights Exclusion Zone statement was read to him to leave
the zone on the safest route when possible. Captain acknowledged and could be seen exiting the
zone. Screen shots taken of vessel in the zone and leaving the zone.

Message for vessel:

Warning. Your vessel has entered the Poor Knights Area to be Avoided.
Marine Protection Rule, Part 190, instructs the masters of vessels to avoid this area, which is
depicted on marine charts including NZ23 (INT 640) and NZ521.
Please confirm you will immediately depart this area via the safest route.
