ABSTRACT SUMMARY

Kolej Poli-Tech Mara Kuantan (KPTM Kuantan) formerly knowns as Kolej Yayasan
Pelajaran Mara (KYPM) was created in September 2003 as a private higher
educational institution under Private Higher Educational Institution Act 1996 (ACT
555) (Malaysia Central n,d.). The purpose of this study of this study is to identify the
negative effect of social media on KPTM Kuantan student. Based on Adil Blogger
(Adil 2021), students will lose focus in class when they use social media and usage
of social media causes low grade. WhatsApp’s, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and
Tik Tok are some of the most popular media social. The researcher, distributed three
surveys and conducted between April and May 2021 to the student of KPTM
Kuantan to examine and study the negative effect of social media. Besides, research
from variety web sites and journal has been used as a references sources to
illustrate a noticeable relation between negative affect to KPTM student and ways to
eliminate the negative impact of social media. For this assignment titled ‘the negative
effect of social media among KPTM Students’ we interviewed three students of
KPTM Kuantan. From this interviewed we found out that all of the students we
interviewed have at least one social media. Social media is not supposed to be a
companion to KPTM Kuantan students. So, we can do something such as set a limit
on using social media to do limit to our use of social media in order to avoid negative
effect from happening to ourselves. It can be concluded from our topic that the
students think that social media has its positives and negatives.
