You will be working with:
• Comboboxes (corresponds to pop-up menu’s in Windows)
• Selection lists, that are available over the pop-up menus
• Selection fields (ranges, that are available in the form of round, white
selection fields that are marked with a pointer when clicked upon)
• Assignment fields (ranges where all the defined assignments will be des-
ignated)
• Buttons (activation panels)
• Accelerator keys (these are the key characters that are shown with an
underline indication on the buttons)

2.2 Applicable Definitions and Terms

What‘s a Combobox?

Combobox Combobox
not selected selected

Illustration 4 Example of a Combobox

A Combobox is a graphical management element or tool that allows the

user to select a specified entry from various entries included in a list. In con-
trast to a list-box, the list of entries will not be shown in complete form on
the monitor, only one entry (namely the last selected entry) will be dis-
played. If the operator now clicks on the Combobox, it will open and the
complete list will be displayed for viewing.

Operation parameters and operation data?

Operation parameters are data options that can be changed or modified;

Operation data, on the other hand can not be changed.

Both are parameters, and both the operation parameters (configuration

parameters) as well as operation data parameters can be displayed in the
monitor for viewing. In contrast to the configuration parameters, the
parameter values of the operation data can not be changed or modified.

8.4.2 Set and simulate alarm factor

A flag can be set for each command telegram in the TCR Twin Safe, that
will switch an internal alarm status in the TCR Twin Safe; as an alternative
the alarm can be switched using an external electric signal.
This means that:

– at each withdrawal transaction and emptying procedure the alarm

factor will be active, as well as any possible configured delay time
period; this means that the delay time period will be multiplied by the
current configured alarm factor.
– the alarm signal can be electrically passed on to any possible con-
nected alarm center.

The above mentioned alarm factor can be configured here; at delivery of

the TCR Twin Safe it will have been set to 1.0. The alarm will also be
switched off again using this same flag. The alarm factor must not be set
below the value of 1.0.

In the range “Alarm Settings“ menu option you can configure a factor for
the withdrawal time period at occurrence of an alarm (Field Alarm Faktor).
The value will be transferred to the TCR Twin Safe when you click on the
“Set Alarm Factor“ button. In order to simulate an alarm click on the
“Activate Alarm” button. To deactivate the alarm once again, click on the
“Deactivate Alarm” button.
The alarm can also switch itself off after a certain period of time. In order to
activate this option, click on the checkbox “Automatic Alarm Reset” but-
ton. In this way an edit box will be activated where the reset time can be
entered.

8.4.7 Configuration of the delay times

When the bank notes are dispensed from the roll storage module, an
amount-dependent delay can be defined which is counted down before the
bank notes are output into the tray.

The factory pre-programs the TCR Twin Safe with the following graphic:

In TCR Twin Safe this graphic is defined as follows:

Class number: Amount up to: Delay up to:

1 100'000 10
Number of classes: 1

Explanation of the grafic:

• From 0 to 100.000 units the delay increases proportionally within the
range of 0 to 10 seconds.
• Above 100.000 units the remains constants at 10 seconds.

Additional explanations:
• This curve must be defined for amounts in national currency; that is, for
currencies with the currency factor 1. The delay times for foreign curren-
cies are multiplied by the currency factor of the foreign currency.
• In the event of an alarm the delay time is multiplied by the alarm factor.
• The delay is counted down before feeding of the bank notes from the
TCR Twin Safe is started.
• When the command „Empty roll storage module“ is executed, the delay
is only counted down if this is requested in the telegram data.
• In TCR Twin Safe you must first define the number of classes and then
the values of the individual classes.
• Up to 10 classes can be defined.

9 Safemaster
As an option, one or more Safemaster units can be connected to the TCR
Twin Safe. They allow objects of value to be processed that cannot be han-
dled by the roll storage module’s of the TCR Twin Safe because of their
dimensions or quality (foreign currencies, coins, cheques, banknotes of poor
quality etc.).

Wheever a Safemaster is connected to a TCR Twin Safe, it must subse-

quently be configured. The correct teller side must be specified at the physi-
cal connection as well as when setting of the commands (left or right).
Following this the TCR Twin Safe will then test the state of the connection,
request the Safemaster for the number of drawers and then register the
Safemaster in the TCR Twin Safe as configured.

The number of drawers can be displayed at any time, whenever the Safe-
master has been configured in the TCR Twin Safe.

The current configuration must first be deleted whenever the Safemaster is

once again removed from the TCR Twin Safe.

Important:
Whenever a Safemaster is configured in the TCR Twin Safe, the connection
to the Safemaster will test the state of the connection every time the „Test"
command is executed.
The type of Safemaster cannot be changed without first executing a new-
configuration procedure.

So that the drawers of the Safemaster can be used by the TCR Twin Safe, a
drawer currency must first be defined for every account. A drawer currency
is made up of an index text and the physical drawer number. The TCR Twin
Safe will generate a currency related index, over which the deposit and
withdrawal procedures are made.

Drawer operation is also possible with the Safemaster system without actual
connection of a Safemaster unit. This however must then be configured
using the physical drawer number equal to zero (0).

A number of various delay times can be set for operation of the Safemaster.

9.4.1 Global settings

The global delay times can be set or modified under the Global Settings
range. The global setting options “Unlocking Time“ and “Open Time“ are
effective at simultaneous opening of all the drawers. The global setting
options “Drawer Reaction Time“ and “Drawer Opening Time“ are valid for
all the drawers in normal operation; this means during withdrawal and
deposit transactions. Whenever these values have to be changed, do not
forget to activate the “Update Data” button otherwise the data will be
lost.

The following delay times are used in conjunction with the SafeMaster and
can be changed or set:

Delay Explanation Default

The configurable delay time, given here and valid for 120 [sec]
