Vocabulary : Nature (p.88):
• Mountain range = a chain of mountains. )such as :Alps, Himalayas…etc.)
• Lake = a large area of fresh water ,surrounded by land.
• Waterfall = a place where water flows over the edge of a steep, high cliff , and falls
into a pool below. ( such as :Niagara waterfalls…etc.)
• River = a large natural water stream . (such as :Nile, Amazon….etc.)

• Desert = a dry land with no water. )such as :Sahara deserts…etc.)


• Ocean = a large sea . (such as :Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean…etc.)
• Rain forest = a thick forest of tall trees found in areas with heavy rain.

GRAMMAR
(COMPARATIVES & SUPERLATIVES)
◦ Grammar: Comparatives
Rules :
-Use Comparatives to compare two things,people
or situations.
-With short adjectives, add (– er ) or (-ier) to the
end of the adjective + (than).
Example:
-A car is faster than A bike.
(Fast is a short adjective with one vowel &syllable).
Rules:
-Withlonger adjectives , use more /less
+adjective+than +the rest of the sentence.
Example:
-My sister is more beautiful than my friend.
( beautiful is a long adjective with more than one vowel
and syllable).
Exception:
-Some adjectives are exceptions,such as:
Good…….better than
Bad………worse than
◦ Grammar:Superlatives
Rules:
-Use the superlative adjective to say which is the
biggest ,the best,…etc in a group.
-With short adjectives, use the +add –est to the end
of the adjective.
Example:
-The lion is the strongest animal in the forest.
(Strong is a short adjective with one vowel and
syllable).
+the rest of the sentence.

Example:
-For many school students, Math is the most difficult
subject.
(Difficult is a long adjective with more than one vowel &
syllable).

Note :
-Some adjectives are exceptions,such as:
Good …..the best
Bad……..the worst

-For adjectives that end in (-y), change the (-y) to (-i).


Example : happy – happier than – the happiest

• (Your) is the second person possessive
Tip 1: adjective, used to describe something as
belonging to you. Your is always
followed by a noun or gerund.
• This is your book.

• (You’re) is the contraction of "you are"


and is often followed by the present
participle (verb form ending in -ing).
• You’re beautiful.

Tip 2: • Where can be an interrogative word, an


adverb or a conjunction. It has to do
with directions.
• Where is the library?

• Wear is also a verb but has to do with


clothes or fatigue.
• I will wear my clothes.

Tip 3:
• To is a preposition with several meanings, including
“toward” and “until.”
• They will go to the park.
• Too is an adverb that can mean “excessively” or “also”.
• This dress is too expensive.

• Two is a number.
• There are two balls in the garden.

• NOTE: (two) is pronounced the same as (to) and


(too), but it can't be used instead of either of them
because it's a number.

Tip 4: • Right is an adjective, means "righteous,
correct, or appropriate"; as a noun, it
means “that which is just or legal”.
• This time use the right form.

• Write is a verb .It means “to inscribe


or compose”.
• I will write this letter again.

• A sea is a large saltwater body, usually
partly or wholly surrounded by land.
• We swam in the sea.

• The verb see can mean “view,”


“witness,” or “understand.”

• Rural area = A place in the countryside.
• Natural beauty = a place in the countryside which is very beautiful.
• Beautiful scenery = natural features that you can see that are very pretty.
• National park = land which is protected by the government because it is very pretty
and people can visit it.
• Wildlife centre =A building/place used for the study and protection of animals and
plants that people can visit.
• Tropical rainforest = A hot, wet area of very tall trees.
• Geographical features = Natural parts of the land such as (mountains, lakes).
• Fresh air = Clean air found in areas which are not polluted.

• Wild = an animal or plant) living or growing in the natural environment; not
domesticated or cultivated. . ( e.g. jaguar, cheetah , monkey, lion).
• Insect = a small arthropod animal that has six legs and generally one or two pairs of
wings. ( e.g. Mosquito ,fly ,butterfly ,bee ).
• Domestic/farm = an area of land and its buildings used for growing crops and
rearing animals, typically under the control of one owner or manager. ( e.g. Cat
,cow , sheep , chicken ,dog).
