Making Sure

Price Too High Letter – Bid

Dear Mrs. Fernwicky,

Thanks for taking the time to write to me about our prices. We try to be the best plumbing
company in town and your feedback helps us to improve.

I understand there are other companies with different pricing in our market. In any industry there
will be a range of prices, reflecting a range of quality and level of service.

In the plumbing industry, we aim to the best plumbing company in Florence. That means we…
(EDIT to make sure this list is TRUE.  )

 Answer the phone with a real, live, friendly person.

 Offer after hours, on call service.
 Respond with ON TIME service…it’s no bargain if you have to wait days for service!
 Employ trained, state-licensed plumbers
 Carry the proper insurance coverage. If one of our plumbers got hurt on your property,
you are covered. And, if we caused any damage to your property, you are covered for
that, too.
 Maintain a drug free workplace…and test to make sure.
 Provide training in technical skills, safety and customer service.
 Contribute to the Florence community.
 Provide high quality products and stand behind them with the longest warranty offered in
the Florence area.
 Invest in fully stocked trucks so that we have what we need to finish your repair in one
stop (at least 90% of the time, anyway. )
 Operate a profitable business so that we stay in business…to be of reliable service to our
customers.

In short, it is a costly endeavor to maintain our high standards. For all our efforts, sometimes we
fall short.

Our prices are based on our costs of doing business. I wish we could charge less…and still
maintain the quality and integrity of operation to which we are committed. While our prices are
fair, in this instance we failed to communicate the value of our services and for that I apologize.

Mrs. Fernwicky, I know you want to get the most value for your dollar. Should the company you
chose fail to satisfy your expectations, I hope that you might call us again. We’ll come right out
and do our best to make you smile.

Enclosed is a coupon. There is no expiration date. Call anytime.

Thanks again for your note. We appreciate hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Glenda Moore
