UNIT 2: CLIMATE CHANGE

CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE:

Climate change =

changes in the earth's climate, especially Changes caused by

Global warming.

Change in temperature and weather patterns.

Causes:

 humans can release gases into the atmosphere

 burning of things
 methane released from rice and manure cultivation

CLIMATE CHANGE:

floods, droughts, fires

IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON DEVELOPMENT

1: World will get warmer and rainfall patterns will change.

Water will evaporate and rivers will dry up. Less water available for farming,
drinking and for Industries.

2: Maize, fruit and grain products will be severely affected.

Farmers will suffer people all their jobs lost and less food will be there.
3: The number of forest fires will increase and not enough rain will for new trees
to grow.

4: The sea will become warmer, will have an effect on the species and number
certain.

5: Sea levels will rise.

6: Droughts, floods and extreme temperatures

Things to do to reduce the effects of climate change:

Use less motor vehicles, it will reduce greenhouse gases.

Do not build houses in areas where the probability of floods are high.

Plant native trees, which are drought resistant.

= Recycle paper to save trees

= Close taps and do not allow taps to run continuously.

= Turn off lights, insulate your home and use solar water heater

= Collect rainwater to water garden
