The reason why us selves chose this study/problem, "The Causes of Lack of Confidence in Oral
Recitation of The STEM Senior High School Students in Davao Doctors College, Inc.: A Path to
Self-Sufficiency" is that it will allow us to properly assess and scrutinize the primary cause of
students' reluctance to share their ideas with others. This will help to increase the confidence of
all STEM students in DDCI, especially in oral recitation, which counts toward their grade.
Because of their poor self-esteem and lack of confidence in their ideas, STEM students often find
it difficult to participate fully in class discussions and to share their thoughts. The said problem
explores what prevents students from speaking up in class as well as some solutions that could be
used to create a more welcoming and stimulating learning environment. It will derive into the
point of view of the students to make them feel that their opinion towards oral recitation has a
big impact in education system of DDCI SHS program.
