1. The key argument is that note-taking is an essential tool that promotes learning by assisting students to avoid
being passive listeners ,leading to higher levels of comprehension across different types of lectures.

2. The study highlights the importance of notetaking as a tool to improve listening comprehension in higher education
settings. In addition, the study strongly suggests that participating in note -taking while listening to lecturers can enhance
levels of comprehensions across different types of lecturers .

3. The main sections in this article are Abstract, research, references and discussions.

4. The method used is Cornell technique.

5. The methods used to prove the argument was that they selected philosophical, narrative and informative text for
listening each lasting for about 20 minutes when read at a normal speech rate. The experiment group received training
on note -taking techniques and used these techniques during listening activities, while the control group listened to
lectures without note-taking.

6. The authors concluded that note taking while listening contribute positively to listening comprehension across
various lectures which include informative , philosophical and narrative. The study results conveyed higher levels of
comprehension to participants who took notes while listening to lectures, compared to those who did not engage in
notetaking.

7. The lingering possibilities include the research on the long-term effects of notetaking on listening comprehension to
inspect the aftermaths of different note-taking strategies on various types of lectures and investigate the transferability
note- taking skills to another academic task.
