Newscaster 1(Cyril): Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III, Senate President of the Philippines, announced his

resignation as Senate leader on Monday.

"It has been a privilege and an honor for me to serve the Senate as its president, like my father.

It was his example that I had sought to imitate during my time as the leader", Pimentel said.

Despite resigning, Pimentel wished Sotto well and pledged to assist the new administration.

"I wish my successor, Senator Sotto, good health and Godspeed and pledge to assist the new leadership

in passing pro-people legislation in line with the president's legislative program. I step down knowing

that I tried my best to do this," he said.

Pimentel went on to say that he would keep up the fight for federalism, which he claimed needed

support. He said that as a leader of PDP-LABAN, it was both a personal and PDP-laban advocacy and

promised to have the group ready to run in the 2019 midterm elections .

Senate leader. Giving you the full details, here is Kiomara Ruiz.

Newscaster 2 (Kiomara): Senator Vicente "Tito” Sotto III was elected Senate President in the end.

Following Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III's resignation on Monday, Sotto took over.

In order to run again in the forthcoming two thousand nine-teen midterm elections, Pimentel resigned.

Sotto, who has been a senator for a considerable amount of time, was proposed by Pimentel himself.

He committed to drafting laws that will benefit Filipinos.

Senator Gringo Honasan was present as Sotto took the oath, and the former TV host was supported by

the majority of the Senate.

As Senate Majority floor leader Sotto steps down, Senator Miguel Zubiri will take his place.

record, Villar's wealth increased by five point two million pesos.

pesos in two thousand sixteen while third was Senator Ralph Recto

Newscaster1 (Cyril):Del Rosario, who led the Philippines in a fling arbitration case against China in two

thousand fourteen, is concerned in our country's safety. According to him "we should then undertake to

stand more firmly in defending what is ours. Del Rosario also said that he agrees with the suggestion of

acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio to urgently file a diplomatic protest against China's action in the

region.
