News Presenter 1 Senior Conservative lawmaker Amber Rudd
has resigned as the United Kingdom’s Secretary of
Senior Conservative Minister Resigns State for Work and Pensions, accusing Prime
Minister Boris Johnson of an assault on
3:00 PM democracy. Her resignation will come as a blow
to Johnson, after his brother Jo Johnson resign on
Thursday saying he was torn between family
loyalty and the national interest. Former
Conservative MP Phillip Lee also defected to the
Liberal Democrats during Prime Minister’s
Questions on Wednesday.
Rudd posted her letter to the Prime Minister
on Twitter Saturday night, saying she could not
“stand by as good, loyal moderate Conservatives
are expelled” which she called an assault on
decency and democracy. Johnson, who has been
prime minister for six weeks, expelled more than
20 Conservatives, including Winston Churchill’s
grandsons Nicholas Soames and Ken Clarke, the
longest serving of Parliament, after they voted to
block the Prime Minister’s plan to leave the EU
without a deal.

A woman suspected to be a bomber, Waa

killed after she allegedly attacked a checkpoint of
the Philippine Army in the Southern island of
Sulu. Major Arvin Encinas, spokesman of the
Western Mindanao Command
(WestMinCom),said members of the Army’s 35 th
Infantry Battalion were manning a checkpoint in
the town of Indanan at around 5:45 p.m., when a
women approached them. An explosion
happened seconds later. No casulties were
reported on the side of the military. Authorities
have yet to identify the slain woman.
Westmincom chief Lieutenant General Cirilito
Sobejana said the suicide bomber was in dresses
in an abaya and looked foreign based on the
recovered remains. The incident follows an
explosion at a public market in the town of
Isulan,Sultan Kudarat province which wounded at
least seven on Saturday.
