Appendix Daywork Rate Amkor
Pursuant to Clause 11.6 (d) (i) of the Conditions of Contract for the main Works, the Architect
may sanction work on a daywork basis if the work cannot be properly measured and valued in
accordance with Clause 11.6(a), (b) or (c). The Tenderer shall fill in the Daywork Rates
hereunder which he would charge for work carried out on a daywork basis.
The Daywork Labour Rates shall be the actual all-in rate of the Contractor’s labour cost
including transportation, food and lodging (if any), all statutory charges or levies payable,
provident fund, insurances, use of all ordinary and standing plant (plant already on site),
tools, standing scaffolding, supervision, overheads and profit. The time of chargehands
(working with their hands) shall be brought to account, but the time of foremen and walking
overseers will be regarded as included in the cost of supervision in his all-in Daywork Labour Rates
and will not be considered for payment under a separate Daywork rate, nor will rates be paid at a
grade higher than that considered necessary by the Architect for the class of work involved. The
cost for power-driven tools should not be included in the labour rates but charges for hand tools
shall be deemed to be included.
Where special mechanical plant is required for use on Daywork, the Architect’s approval must be
obtained and the cost to be paid to the Contractor must be agreed before commencement of
work. Only such plant that the Architect has accepted as special mechanical plant before
commencement of work will be considered for payment as special plant on daywork basis.
The Daywork Plant and Equipment Rates shall be the actual all-in rate of the Contractor’s
common plant and equipment cost including fuel and consumable stores, maintenance, servicing,

Only time on work actually done will be allowed. A “Day” is considered to be a normal working day
of 8 hours. Fractions of a day will be paid for “pro-rata”.
