OCCUPIED BED
Definition: It is a bed prepared with the patient in it.
Purposes:
1. To provide comfort for the patient.
2. To maintain a hygienic environment.
3. To reduce transmission of microorganisms.
4. To refresh the patient.
5. To conserve the patient’s energy.
Equipment: (top to bottom) bath blanket, bottom sheet, pillowcase, top sheet
1 bottom sheet
1 waterproof underpad (optional)
1 top sheet
2 pillow cases
1 blanket (optional)
1 pair of working gloves
Check the patient’s chart To determine degree of help
remove jewelry and Wash your hand. to deter the spread of microorganisms.
Assemble equipment in order of use and at the Organization facilitates the performance of the
