OCCUPIED BED
Definition: It is a bed prepared with the patient in it.
Purposes:
1. To provide comfort for the patient.
2. To maintain a hygienic environment.
3. To reduce transmission of microorganisms.
4. To refresh the patient.
5. To conserve the patient’s energy.
Equipment: (top to bottom) bath blanket, bottom sheet, pillowcase, top sheet
