considered.
 Homework and short pop-quizes may/can be given and may/can be factored into the final grades.
 Course will be team taught by instructors that are experts in the topic area.

Test information
 Test questions will most often be multiple choice, short answers, true & false, and/or fill-in-the-blank.
 Test questions will be formulated primarily from the lecture, although a small percentage of questions can
also be derived from assigned readings. Published research papers may be assigned and such readings will
also qualify as testable material.
 Each exam will have between 60-100 questions.
 Grades for each single exam will be assigned based on the average class score with other individual’s
scores/grades based on the standard deviation (SD) of the mean (e.g., average score = 70 (B) then with a SD
of 10, a 60 would be a C and ≥80 would be an A). Grades will be given back before the next exam.
 Exam questions will not be returned, but can be reviewed with the course Organizer/GA upon request.
 Any form of cheating will result in an F for that test. (http://cas.nyu.edu/page/academicintegrity)
 In consultation with the Course Director, the same instructor who presented the lecture will prepare the test
questions.
 While exams will not include information covered on previous tests. However, you may need to know basic
concepts learned throughout the semester.

Note: The Course Director takes NJ Transit for class. Thus, if NJ Transit/path is cancelled, the Director will not be in
attendance on that day. The Course Director/GA/guest lecturer will attempt to call a few students if they are going to
be late for any reason. However, students are expected to remain 1 hr before leaving the classroom (i.e., 10:30 AM).
