What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)?

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition that makes it hard for a person to control their
activity level and reactions to what’s going on around them.
Someone with ADHD may also have trouble keeping their attention on what they want to do.
Some children with ADHD may need:
 time to calm down in a safe space;
 opportunities for active learning where they can move around;
 simplified instructions to break down activities;
 someone to be patient and give clear information;
 changes in their physical environment to help them concentrate.
Providing an individualised behaviour plan will enable students and adults to work on specific behaviours that can be
monitored and supported over time.

Please note: This resource is editable and provides you with an opportunity to add personalised
goals for individual students. The examples given are just suggestions and can be deleted and
replaced with more relevant goals for your targeted student.
