1. Search for a story of a business tycoon or a well-known personality who came from the lowest
social class to the highest social class, tell me how they started they journey for reaching their
dream. What are the challenges they been through and how they manage all those Challenges.
 Henry Sy
- Born in Fujian, he moved with his family to the Philippines at age 12. While his family returned to
China.
- He is no other than “Henry Sy”, the best retail magnate who own well-established 33 SM
Malls. ... It is one of the best and inspiring stories because he was the best entrepreneur and
built all SM Malls. He becomes the biggest banker as well as richest man in Philippians
surpassing both the Ayalas and Lucio Tan.
- In 1958, he established a shoe store in Quiapo, Manila. The name of the store was “Shoe Mart”.
For the time, he was purchasing many shoes, leather goods, and accessories. He hopes to
change the way of shoe manufacturer strategy.
2. Being a Filipino how will you describe the social classes here in the Philippines in terms of
opportunities and attitude towards work.
 It's hard work here in the Philippines, I notice those who work most of them are commuters
they are always tired from the trip. They all work more than 8 hours and their wages are low

achieving their dreams that you think will be helpful also to you.
 The attitude that I admire in them are their perseverance, hard work and they always think
about their dreams. Starting small business they have grown it on because of being hard at
work, they worked hard and reached their dreams. All their traits are what I will imitate so that I
can grow as a person.
4. Identify your social class right now and your dream social class and tell me how will you
achieved your dreams. Identify your strength that you can used in achieving your dreams.
 I am now just a student and my dream is to be a web Developer I will work hard and study so
that I can reach my dream as well. I will use my intellect and courage to help myself grow From
now on I will work hard to study so that I can graduate and get into big companies, I will be a
web developer one day.
