WELCOME TO

Agua Fria
AGUA FRIA: The dusty border town where people do business with money
and blood.

Notable residents include the MAYOR, the SHERIFF, the DEPUTY,


the SALOON OWNER, and the DOCTOR. all upstanding citizens in their
own, Agua Fria kind of way.

But there’s been some trouble as of late: a GANG OF OUTLAWS has


been raising havoc round these parts,
parts and rumour has it that their
notorious leader, TEXAS RED, has been hiding out in Agua Fria.

Thing is, nobody new has shown up here in a while, which leads folk to
think maybe Red’s been here the whole time. An Agua Fria local, a fine
citizen, with a DEADLY DOUBLE LIFE.

This’ll spell trouble for the town, no doubt. Texas Red is wanted all
over, and it’s only a matter of time before rangers, bounty hunters,
and the like descend upon this place
place, looking to make Texas Red...
Texas Dead.

Red needs to be found, before this all gets out of hand.

Good luck, and remember: in a town like this, fortune favours the mean,
the dirty, the cruel. In a town like this, you can’t trust anyone.

NOTE: If you’re playing with six players, there’s a new person in town:
The STRANGER, an out of town fella, who seems like he’s looking for
trouble.

THE FULL RULES ARE LISTED IN THE RULEBOOK.
AT LEAST ONE PLAYER SHOULD READ THEM IN FULL.

FOR EVERYONE ELSE:


1. Read your CHARACTER SHEET in detail. It might contain important
secrets, so be careful what you reveal! Take note of your OBJECTIVES.

2. Roleplay as your character and talk to other players, Learn what


secrets you can to help achieve your Objectives.

3. You may need to talk privately with other players. Sneak away
to conspire in secret.

4. Every 15 minutes there will be a TOWN MEETING. All players should


gather together.

5. You have two available ACTIONS, listed on your character sheet.


You can use EACH ACTION ONLY ONCE for the whole game.

6a. To use an Action when PLAYING IN PERSON:


Tear off the Action from your paper, fill in your TARGET, and place it
in the BALLOT BOX.

ONLINE
6b. To use an Action when PLAYING ONLINE:
Secretly inform the MODERATOR of your chosen Action and Target.

7. All Actions used each round will be announced and activated at


the next Town Meeting.

8. The game will end after 6 or 7 Town Meetings. depending on if


there are 5 or 6 players, respectively. It will end early if enough
people die.

The Deputy
THE DEPUTY:
You’re the Deputy of this fine town!
Here to deal out the law.

You’ve been helping the SHERIFF deal out


Justice for a little while now. It’s not a
career for you, you’re just happy to do
your part.

This TEXAS RED business is no good, and as


Deputy, it’s your responsibility to help the Sheriff
catch this outlaw. The Sheriff’s a good man, and you respect him.

But you’re tired of constantly playing second banjo. Both to the Sheriff
and to your wife, the SALOON OWNER. That’s why you started a business
of your very own.
It’s a simple operation: You take horses from saloon folk too drunk to
know otherwise, and sell them off in nearby towns. So far it’s worked well.

The DOCTOR is in on it too. He takes the occasional horse for himself in


exchange for covering for you. You don’t know what for, but you don’t ask
questions.
But you gotta be careful the Sheriff doesn’t find out about this. A horse-
thieving deputy would look real bad.

RUMOURS:
-Running a gang of outlaws would be an expensive operation.
-The DOCTOR and the MAYOR are old friends, and often share secrets.

IF THERE’S SIX PLAYERS:


-This STRANGER who wandered into town looks like he means business.
But thing is, you recognise him. You sold him a stolen horse a few
months back. Depending on who he is, he might not want that being
public information. That gives you influence over him.
THE DEPUTY:

OBJECTIVES:
-Catch and kill Texas Red
-Don’t let the Sheriff or the Saloon Owner
find out you’re stealing horses

ACTIONS:
The Sheriff relies on you to interrogate suspects, and you’re
not afraid to kill them if necessary.

To use an action, fill out the name of your target, tear the action from
this piece of paper, and put it in the BALLOT BOX.

If you’re playing online, there is no Ballot Box. Secretly inform the


MODERATOR of your intended target and action instead

This action will be activated at the next TOWN MEETING, at the end of this
round.
