COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course will provide an overview of the field of public policy by focusing on its development
and importance in government operations at the local, state, and federal levels. As a result of this
course, students will learn and develop in themselves a proper understanding of variety of notions
of the state, identifying the differences between various perspectives on the state, and
understanding that the current states may be evaluated in terms of different theories

 Modern Pluralism (Robert Dahl)
 Classical Marxism and Neo-Marxist Theories
 Anarchist Critique
 Feminist Theory
