SUBJECT: Dress Code

The company had lived up to its sterling reputation of having a consistent atmosphere and the
positive image that employees present as the representatives of the company. Recent observation
and surveillance upon the workplace show that most of the employees are not following the
proper dress code. Thus, a reminder of the company dress policy to all employees is a must.
As all employees are aware of, maintaining our professional appearance towards our clients and
the public is at most importance. As professional dress code and atmosphere presents a potential
increase on our clients while dressing inadequately could result to a counter-productivity. The
way we dress greatly impacts on how people perceive our company. Negative image and adverse
impressions conveyed could immensely affect the entire company.
Listed below are the company’s policy on appropriate dress code that should be worn during
work hours and related common items that should be observed in the work area.

Appearance and Hygiene:


 Employees are expected to bathe daily.
 Hair should be groomed and washed.
 Colognes and perfumes must not produce a strong or excessive scent.

Clothing:
 Men are expected to wear black or navy blue slacks, provided that they are clean and
wrinkle free. Inappropriate items include jeans, sweat pants, shorts, bib overalls, spandex
and other form-fitting pants, and pants that are excessively worn or faded.
 Shirts that are acceptable include: casual shirts with collars, polo shirts, sweaters, and
turtlenecks. While inappropriate ones include: tee shirts, sweatshirts, tank tops, halter
tops, shirts with large lettering or logos, and any tops with bare shoulder unless worn
under another blouse or jackets. Also, avoid clothes that are distracting and revealing.
 Women are expected to wear dresses or skirts. Dresses that are sleeveless but do not
leave the shoulders bare are acceptable. Mini-skirts and spaghetti strap dresses are
considered inappropriate.
 Acceptable foot wears include: loafers, boots, flats, and leather casual shoes. While
athletic shoes, sneakers, thongs, sandals, and slippers are considered unacceptable.
Jewelry and Accessories:
 Allowable jewelries and accessories are watches, necklaces, earrings, and rings.
 All jewelries and accessories must be sanitized and cleaned daily.
 Inappropriate jewelries include: tongue piercing, nose piercing, extra earings, etc.
 Also, shoes, belts, and stockings in complementing colors are necessary for completing a
professional look.

Dress plays an important role in developing a successful atmosphere. Every employee must exert
an effort in choosing and dressing properly upon the work place. As failure to obliged the dress
code policy will result to a disciplinary action.
