grown to a fully compliant apparel manufacturer with 14 sewing lines. It has the management
expertise, a flexible production platform, a highly skilled workforce, and experienced staff to

Posh garment quantitative practices :
Technology and automation can play a critical role where the cost of investment can offset the
high cost of manual labour, low productivity and consistent quality. As to the future growth
plans, consolidation is a mantra to attain growth as increase the efficiency, diversify product
offerings, focus more on promoting products, manufacture more value-added garments and
export to non-traditional countries while also increasing the number of buyers.
Posh garment has a very flexible production platform and production team also has the required
skills and expertise to successfully manage smaller MOQs. But yes when it comes to the price
points, it is a challenge while dealing with the big brands and retailers in small MOQs but not as
much with the smaller played boutiques.
Today, the company has grown to become a fully compliant apparel manufacturer with 12
sewing lines manufacturing a wide range of apparel for men, women and children. It caters to
high-street retailers and brands, cutting across geographical locations, especially in Europe. Posh
Garments has a very flexible production platform and a highly skilled workforce, churning out
millions of pieces of garments in different fabrications.
Moving towards completing four decades of its existence, Posh Garments is more into value-
added garments rather than basic. Its primary product category is ladies’ blouses and dresses. It
recently started manufacturing skirts and women’s trousers, thus offering a wide range of
products in a single segment (ladies). The company was willing to increase its product range, as
buyers were looking for more products in one segment in one factory rather than going to the
different factories where only tops or bottoms are made.
Due to product category, fabrication varies with chiffon, polyester, satin, viscose, linen, etc.
“With this expertise, the learning curve is relatively less. So with fewer efforts, we can do more
products,” said Wasim. The frequency of style changes per sewing line; sometimes it’s even two
styles a week. The company can do a short run of 500 pieces per style or even 1,00,000 pieces or
more per style.
The next focus for the company is to increase productivity as this is one area where most of the
Bangladeshi factories also need to work. And the company is well aware of becoming overall
efficient; training and development of middle management are very critical. “Workers as well as
middle level professionals should be on the same track to become more efficient. In all such
activities, the role of human resource (HR) is very important. adding that along with HR
development, a company has to give certain tools to its management staff as well. Posh Garments
has invested in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solution. It reduced a lot of
paperwork and increased efficiency, raised accountability and transparency in the system. The
company has been making salary payment to all workers and staff electronically for the last
three years. It is also planning to give incentives to workers for higher productivity and to
educate them about physical and mental well being.
Working with many well-known global retailers and respected brands, Posh Garments is BSCI,
SEDEX, GOTS, ISO 9001, Oeko-Tex certified and audited by Accord. The company just started
production of garment where fabric is made from recycled polyester yarn.
The modern, highly competitive export apparel sector places a premium on quality
characterization. Global standards for apparel are ultimately product-focused, technologically
driven, and benchmarked by the biggest consumers. Tolerance in the level of product
competency cannot be ignored since too liberal standards may allow the excessive passage of
poor goods while too strict standards may result in appropriate goods being unjustly rejected.
Performance, dependability, visual appeal, and perceived garment quality are just a few
examples of the traits that help the apparel industry maintain a high standard of quality. It is
essential to frame quality in terms of a certain economic context.
Quality is ultimately determined by customer satisfaction. Superior quality increases a product’s
worth, creates a brand identity for the exporter of clothing, and increases a product’s perceived
value, all of which result in more sales, more foreign exchange for the country, and delighted
customers. To provide the buyer with the desired level of enjoyment, many components combine
to form the garment’s perceived quality. Therefore, quality control in terms of clothing, pre-sales
service, delivery, post-sales service, and price is important for every clothing exporter.
Build trusting relationships and keep the lines of communication open with suppliers,
subcontractors, and other manufacturing process stakeholders. All parties are aligned with
quality standards and expectations thanks to clear communication. Regular communication
makes it possible to quickly identify and address any quality-related issues.
It is impossible to overestimate the value of automation in the garment industry, especially given
Bangladesh’s manufacturing environment. Automation has completely changed the game,
transforming the sector and resulting in dramatic benefits.
