SERVICE DESCRIPTION
JOB FAMILY: MAINTENANCE & INSPECTION
JOB TITLE: INSPECTION ENGINEER
ENTITY: UBETA PROJECT
MISSIONS

UBETA is part of OML58 (Onshore) field and will be developed as an unmanned platform to be tied-in to OBITE
Gas Treatment Centre (OBITE TC). The produced fluid will be sent to OBITE TC for processing. Suitable
candidate is needed to fill the position to be part of the Project execution team.
The prospective Job holder will work within an integrated Project team during Construction, Commissioning
and Start-up phase to deliver the future inspection and integrity Engineering works for the entire field covered
by the Project. S/He is to develop the Inspection and Integrity strategy for the facilities encompassed within
the Project according to its objectives and TotalEnergies E & P Project organization.

TASKS/ACTIVITIES
The jobholder will:
Apply the "Maintenance and Inspection Philosophy" documents. (Can suggest recommendations for improvements)
Supervise, control, review and recommend for validation all Inspection Engineering document preparation (especially
those prepared by the MIE Contractors as stated in “Requirements for MIEC”) for future field operations, in close
relations and liaison with National Regulations body, and Inspection Department of JVA FOPs
Provide assistance to UBETA Project Package Leaders with regards to Inspection issues.
Review of 3D models and working with CONTRACTOR to ensure correct implementation of Maintenability &
Inspectability criteria
Lead the Base Line Inspection activities during construction and commissioning of the new installations
Apply applicable General Specifications and the equipment integrity strategy and propose actions to be implemented
to apply the inspection strategy. After Management approval, execute and follow up all activities required to implement
and achieve integrity strategy for the installations.
Participate in the application and implementation of the Field operations procedures for the initial plant start-up and
the Project close-out activities
Provide technical assistance as required to the Work Package Leaders to ensure that the design is in conformity with
the Project specifications,
Follow up, control, and review the Inspection Engineering activities on Site especially those carried out by the MIE
Contractors
Co-ordinate the acquisition, collation, preparation, processing, and implementation of data to be uploaded in
Computerised Inspection Management System (UNISUP/CMIMS tool)
Follow up the preparation, review, and recommendation for validation of the Inspection dossiers
Participate in the preparation of documents and files required to be loaded in COMPANY EDMS
Participate in the first ILI of the pipelines and follow up with the required and necessary National and Certification
authorities
Participate in the preparation of the various Maintenance & Inspection Engineering contracts for equipment survey,
inspection & certification (if any) required for use during the production phase.
Participate in activities to prepare the facilities for plant start-up and first oil
Provide assistance during the handover to operations all documents of UBETA Project especially those of MIE.
Liaise and follow up with National Regulation bodies as required for approval of design and documentation.
Perform any other duties within own jurisdiction.

Ensure that potential failures, weaknesses, and hazards are immediately reported through COMPANY System in
place (Anomaly Reporting)
Participate in Job Safety Analysis, suggest safety improvements, report any unsafe acts or conditions observed and
propose solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND


EDUCATION: University Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical & Materials Engineering
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Engineer with experience in Inspection Engineering within a project team - good knowledge
of means and resources needed for the inspection of the petroleum installations. Previous
experience of use of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) activities of Inspection operations,
Classification regulations, Inspection/NDT techniques, Corrosion prevention, with 10 - 15
years’ working experience in Inspection and at least 5 years in Oil & Gas projects. Use of
Inspection-associated software package (especially FAME +) is an added advantage.

OTHER INFORMATION: Activities taking place at various geographical locations: up to 3 onshore locations in
Nigeria. Onshore missions during construction, installation, and start-up phases.
